Long lasting and safe for fish, ducks, birds
We use this in the pond on our property with catfish and perch in it. It helps them hid from Herons looking for food, aesthetically it looks so much nicer than brown/muddy water and is safe for the fish, ducks, etc that use our pond as a water source.

Works
Works well but dissipated fairly quickly, likely due to water Depth. Add more and it stayed colored longer

Nice Dark Coloring...
This product came quickly and as described. It is quite dark in color. However I like it much more than the muddy looking water I did have in my pond. This product also appears more natural looking than the odd looking green color that most pond dyes create.

Color concern and when to use.
I used this product to control floating algae in farm pond (1/2 acre). According to info I read online and on packaging I should have used colorant earlier than did. Feb or March is recommended. It was early April Some floating algae had already started to appear with rising water and air temps prior to treating and Algae was happening daily. Put in product as soon as it arrived (Which was much faster than expected). The color has only been in for two weeks but it seems to have halted any Alage growth. I was concerned about what color to get because I wanted it to look natural instead of some neon color. I had read that blues work better than black or silver for Aqutic plant control , that is why i chose sapphire blue. I am very happy with the color and how it looks. will let you know how it works and lasts with more time.

I hate writing bad reviews
Look, I always avoid saying anything bad about a product because it's possible that someone else would have had a much better experience. But in this case I'm helping the Amazon community by writing a truthful review of my experience using this pond colorant. The home that I live in has a 1 acre lake, the deepest part is 16 ft and I've always purchased a commercial current which is very pricey but works. When I saw this for sale and had had lots of good reviews I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. I bought two gallons of this and when it was time to add the colorant I turned on the de-icer we used for the ducks which circulates water throughout the pond and within an hour or so the proper color was reached. It wasn't more than a few weeks that The color started fading. This is what happens with the garbage from tractor supply and that's what happened with this. Now I have that stupid blue looking color that is so unnatural in Northeast Ohio that I will eventually have to buy some black colorant to tone it down. This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. If you buy the cheap stuff you will get cheap results. By the best colorant you can afford and you'll be much happier

I fish lakes a lot and love a deep blue green color you see in deeper ...
Have an old spring fed farm pond roughly 1 acre give or take a little in either direction. I am not for certain of it's max depth I would guess around 8 feet. It constantly looked mud brown no matter the weather. I fish lakes a lot and love a deep blue green color you see in deeper water and that is what I wanted for my pond. I was scared this was going to make my pond look unnatural but to my pleasant surprise after about 24 hours the pond was completely changed over and had my deep blue green lake water look. For my taste it is the perfect natural color. I will buy again when needed.

Good shade of blue.
I use this in a 1.25 acre pond. The color lasts well and is dark enough to help suppress algea growth.
