Burlap & Barrel spices are excellent. I am delighted to add the Cinnamon Verum to my pantry.It is more economical to order some spices through Amazon, given the shipping costs from the company. But, it does offer many more spices and blends.

I have bought 3 of these, blackened garlic, onion and shallot. The flavors are so fresh & delicate. I love them on salads or sprinkled as a finishing flavor on soups or veggies. They were great on my blackened fish also. I say it is a finisher because I would not want to stew these for hours as the flavor will weaken, but they can certainly be cooked or sautéed. The lightness and subtlety of the flavor is what I appreciate in these. It is a more refined taste & not the typical run of the mill “garlic salt” or powdered onion. The shallot is my favorite for salads. If you are wondering how shallots should taste, I have used purple shallots fresh from the farmers market and they are similarly subtle but delicious, able to be eaten raw without much of a bite to the flavor. I would add that I have used these in the bottom of my bowl of soup that had been heavily spiced with curry, coriander, fennel, and herbs. With the hot soup poured over, these have blended well, adding the perfect touch. I love to spice my food and will be trying more from this company

Minty and peppery, this has a great aroma. I use it in sweet, savory and milky recipes. If you are cardamom - choosy, this is great. It is a "rough powder," and visible in most foods.

I love sumac on all kinds of things. This is very nice. Possibly for cooking some might consider a less expensive bulk organic.I consider this more like a finishing salt type product. I use it on anything I would like a little bit of acidity/tanginess. I love the texture of this product.

Never knew what real paprika tasted like and what it would bring out in food. Perfect blend

Very fresh and unique versatile spice

Ordered in May and just opened up as I had product from Penzey’s (which was great). This was completely solid and I tried to dig some out with a pick, but it isn’t going to work☹️. Window on return closed, of course, but expiration date is 3/2026. Won’t be ordering Burlap & Barrel spices again.

Love this sprinkled on garlic pita bread before lightly toasting.

I love cardamom and was excited to try this, especially after reading all the wonderful reviews, but this jar was bitter without any of the unique floral woodsy aromatic qualities that my favourite spice is known for. Disappointing.

I use this product for everything I want a smoke flavour, eggs, meats and sauces

Have used on pork, beef, scrambled eggs and gumbo... very versatile

It tastes good!
