Are there newer style bricks in this now? I had the old version and I don't remember these

Afraid iv bought it to give my 2yr old when hes older so havent opened mine but iv talked to ppl who have it updated in the style of the original mane changes are 2 sided heads as well as mix gender were original was just male. But other then that its the same hope it helps
