Excellent fit and function for 5 x 5 grow tent. I much prefer this “strip frame” design over the plastic square panels. More even light distribution, easier for air circulation. This was not my first grow light. I have owned metal halide and HPS high intensity discharge (HID) unit. The older units while cheaper suffer from the following compared with this newest design: heavier, more heat, expensive bulb replacement, as well as minor noise complaints. Originally LED units did not put out the light (lumens). I would say this light is the best unit for the “serious” hobbiest who is pairing this with a moderate sized grow tent.

Does not come with a detachable ballast. Cord is way to short. I would not recommend because they are not honest. The ppfd coverage is good in a 4x4. They need to do right by their customers and give us an extension cord for the driver.

Good light covers the hole tent wow! No complaints here for Christmas I m going to buy another vivosunVSF6450 led light.great value for the money I have 4 di$ference lights in the other tent only 250watts per light but cost me more than my vicodin paid $750.00 way more but not as good

This was a good deal for the price when a large coupon was available, this uses LOM 301D diodes... It runs hot for an LED light and the cable is so short that it is impossible to get the ballast outside of the tent or even detached from the light in any useful way. A simple extension cord would solve the problem, but they don't appear to exist anywhere online, and Vivosun took many weeks and multiple emails to respond to this request.Other major brands respond to their customers in 24 hours, these guys take over a week every time! Other brands provide better heat dissipation and longer cords that will get your ballast outside of the tent successfully. The included instructions do not provide the PAR maps or any useful information outside of assembling the light, I had to go back to the product pages afterwards to download images for reference when using the device in my setup.
