So Good!
For the longest time I used regular oregano whenever a recipe called for Mexican oregano. I had no idea there could be such a difference in flavor between the two. I'm glad I finally tried Mexican oregano. It has added variety to our meals. I can't even begin to describe the flavor but I always get positive compliments whenever I use it in a recipe. I now tell everyone - It's the Mexican oregano that you are tasting. Not to be confused with regular oregano used in Italian foods.

A necessity for mexian cooking
I didn't realize i was missing mexican oregano in my life and cooking until i got ahold of some. My sauces taste better, my pickles have more flavor. The oregano is in relatively large bits, and as your crush and sprinkle it into your food, it smells wonderful, which means it is grown and processed well, instead of many leafy spicy that are so low quality that you might as well just sprinkle them in the trash.

Real Deal
Terrific addition to Mexican cooking, which I do a lot. Still, I doubt I'll be able to use the entire jar before it loses it's pungency. For long-cooking recipes I toss the buds in whole. For quick dishes, I grind the buds in a small marble mortar, takes about 10 seconds. The jar I received has only a small amount of stems.

A Potent Brand of Oregano
First time I ever purchased whole leaf oregano - what a wonderful surprise! This oregano has a strong vibrant aroma that's broadcast as soon as the lid is lifted. I just smile thinking of using it, much better than that Kroger or Safeway grass clippings I'm accustomed to using. The price was great too. The jar is full of loose leaves that don't have much weight, but after crushing a pinch in my palms it was obvious it wouldn't take much to add flavor to my sauces with this item.

I cook all the time and when you open it up it smells like it was dried this year
This is the real stuff. It’s so fresh. I cook all the time and when you open it up it smells like it was dried this year!!! That’s rare in a dried herb you buy. Mexican oregano has a sweeter smell then regular oregano. I’m finding that I’m putting it in more and more dishes and I’m truly enjoying this herb and this brand. Will definitely buy from them again!!

The real deal
This is that good, sweet Mexican Oregano.. Just a quick word for those who are unaware that there IS quite a difference between Mexican Oregano and that flat tasting stuff they sell down at the national chain supermarkets.I only gave this four stars, not because of any lack in flavor, but because it has just a wee bit more stem than what I normally get at the local Mexican store. It is also 300% less expensive, so for the difference I can deal. And BTW: This is a BIG jar that the picture does not do justice to. It is two and a half by three and a half by eight inches high, so you may need to knock out some walls to get it on your spice rack.

Perfect for my recipes!
Hard to find spice in American grocery stores! Thank goodness for Amazon, especially during these times. The dried leaves are whole, big, and fragrant. I just crush them with my hands before adding to my dishes. Perfect for the any Latin American dish that calls for Mexican oregano! This container is also huge and will last you a VERY long time.Note that it comes with sift lid only (no pour side) which does nothing because the oregano pieces are may larger than the holes so you’re going to need to screw off the cap every time you use it.
