This Spigen case is the best and most cost-effective compromise
The options for protecting the Samsung Note 8 range from a costly protection plan to rigid box-like mil-spec cases. This Spigen case is the best and most cost-effective compromise, to my mind.Samsung's protection plan costs $11.99/month, plus a deductible of $99 per incident, making the repair of one broken screen cost $242.88 (one year of protection=$143.88, one broken screen=$99). Apple now charges $199 for two years of Apple Care protection, plus $29 deductible for a broken screen ($99 for any other issue). Assuming one broken screen a year for the first two years of the phone's life, the cost of Samsung Premium Care protection is $287.76 for two years of insurance and $198 deductible for two broken screens, totaling $485.76. With Apple, the cost would be $199 for two years of Apple Care and $58 deductible for two broken screens, making a $247 total cost to protect the Iphone from two broken screens. For most of us, the likeliest damage our phone will sustain is a broken screen. Samsung Premium Care's cost of protection for a broken screen is huge--significantly more than half the cost of a phone to repair two screens. Apple Care may be a better deal, but it's still expensive. Then you have cases and screen protectors which can do a very good job of protecting the phone, but often at the expense of increased bulk and unattractive appearance. The choice between insurance or a case will be a matter of personal preference, but in my experience, a good case is a better investment than Apple Care or Samsung Premium Care. A good case, together with care in the handling of your phone, will protect your investment at far less cost than insurance--and remember, insurance policies don't cover lost phones, the most common way to lose the use of a phone in my family's experience. If you've settled on a case rather than insurance, then these dual-material (TPU inner shell, hard plastic exoskeleton outside) Spigen cases hit the balance between protection and bulk/appearance better than any of the cases I've used over the years. Cables fit with these cases. Wireless charging is unobstructed.Lightweight, crystal clear cases look good, but aren't as effective at protecting against drops--especially drops on corners. Heavy-duty waterproof, mil-spec cases may protect against bazooka attacks, but they don't fit pant pockets very well.I've used the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge version of this case for nearly a year now. There are dents in the hard plastic exoskeleton from drops onto hard surfaces, but the phone remains pristine. I've found these Spigen cases the best compromise between cost, looks, size and effectiveness of the cases I've used. I had the same hybrid, dual-material Spigen case on my Note 7 that got recalled (twice), on the replacement S7 Edge, and now on the Note 8, and I trust it. I'm not buying insurance this time. I did last time. Not again. Finally, I would only use this case in tandem with a screen protector. In my experience, the wet-apply plastic protectors work best for protection, but they sure do get messed up by the S-pen.... Wish there were a decent glass protector out there for curved-screen phones.

Professional and elegant
The Spigen Neo Hybrid Arctic case is absolutely a winner on the Midnight Black Note 8. Typically, I go through several cases with a new phone before getting one I like. This time I got it right on the second try. I initially got the Ultra Hybrid. It fit great on the Note 8, but it is too slick for me and it is a fingerprint magnet. I then decided to try the Neo Hybrid because of its similar size to the Ultra Hybrid but with a patterned back. Instantly after taking the Neo Hybrid out of its package, I knew I had a keeper and that my search was over. The NH adds almost no bulk to the Note 8. In fact, the Note 8 feels much better in my hand with the NH on it than without it. It's not slick or rubbery feeling. It has the right amount of grip and feel for me. The NH makes the Note 8 feel more sturdy overall. No problems with fingerprints. The cutouts are spot on. The button covers are clicky and tactile. The Note 8 buttons now have a more substantial feel. The top and bottom front lips protrude just enough to keep the screen off a table surface when the Note 8 is turned over. The back design allows the Note 8 to lay absolutely flat. The camera well is beveled and assists in placing your finger on the fingerprint sensor. The NH is a two piece design case with a flexible TPU base and a thin polycarbonate frame. The frame is a satin silver color and the TPU is blue gray or gray blue or dark gray depending on the lighting. With the case on the Note 8, there is no squishy or spongy feeling. It feels like a single solid unit. For me it is quite professional and elegant looking and adds a touch of color to the Midnight Black motif of the Note 8. Also, for US users, the Note 8 will only be available in black or gray. With the Arctic NH, I will be enjoying the black, gray, and blue models simultaneously. An added benefit of the NH series is that the TPU bases and PC frames are interchangeable. If I wish, I can change parts with other colored models.Another important feature of the NH for me is that it is reportedly compatible with the Whitestone dome glass screen protector. I will likely be putting one on soon. The NH and Whitestone will be a killer combination.***Update*** I put a Whitestone dome on the Note 8. It fits precisely over the screen without touching the the NH. A great combination for the Note 8.***Update *** I finally received a fast wireless charger from Samsung. The NH works with fast charging.I have no reservations about buying another NH. I highly recommend it.

Minor wear from cup holders. Ports, fit, protection, looks, comfort
Final Update: 9monthsSolid case, dropped many times. Probably going to order again since this one finally had its last fall. SEE LAST PIC. Love the case though. Read rupees below for further details.UPDATE!I've had this case for about a 7mo now, and still love it for my Note8.I did remove one star from my 5/5, ONLY due to the manufacturer using white plastic as the case's base (shown in attached pics). This wear only happened though, since the Notes are rather large and I keep mine in the cup holder while driving.Original Purchase ReviewPorts: 5/5Fit: 5/5 I was leery to purchase this case, as I loved the looks but saw a couple reviews with the side bowing out. Perhaps they had lemons, because mine is perfect.Protection: 5/5 For being a case made for an Infinity Edge phone, it provides ample protection. While not comparing the build to a bulky OtterBox, the design is perfect for what it's meant to do. The lip on the top and bottom of the phone will protect as it's made to.Looks: 5/5 I bought the smoke and black case, and thoroughly pleased. Looks as depicted online.Comfort: 5/5 I've had several cases of various styles. This case is comfortable, offers enough grip not to slide off a table or fall out of your hands, yet enough sleekness so you don't have to fight getting it out of your pocket. It's edges and ports cuttings are properly angled as to not create any pain while holding.

Stile, confort e resistenza!!
Una cover fantastica, aderisce perfettamente e rispetta a pieno i margine e le porte dello smartphone. Molto resiste su i bordi ma cmq morbida e facile da rimuovere qual'ora servisse. Spingen top come sempre 😎👍

Brilliant product aesthetically and durable
Had this for quite a while now, have dropped it a few times and phone still perfectly in tact. Have thought about replacing but only have a few scuffs from me clumsily dropping and love the fact that I actually forget my phone has a case on it. Still looking good, if replace, will only get another one of these, but the way it's going, more likely to replace the phone before the case.
