This stuff Really Works!
Many cats get dumped in our backyard for whatever reason and we take care of ALL of them. But one particular cat I noticed had NO business being outside! So I took him into my home and my heart. He is a true joy. HOWEVER! He is so anxiety ridden, with excessive yowling and has separation anxiety issues! Who knows where he came from or WHAT happened to him. He is just the sweetest thing! But I knew I needed some help so I went to Pet Smart and they recommended this product. You just plug in the diffuser and it calms him right down! It is amazing to see the difference in him! If you have a cat (not for dogs) that is anxious all the time, I truly promise it worth the price, which is rather expensive, but well worth it for your fur babies piece of mind!

Well worth the money!
I have been buying these pheromones for my cat every single month for the past several years. They work so well! My cat tends to act aggressively, to the point that we were worried about our safety and the safety of my dog. These pheromones calm her down so much! We can always tell when the bottle needs to be replaced because the cat starts bouncing off the walls and running around the house. As soon as we install a new diffuser bottle, she is back to her calm self. This product is worth the money.

I am seeing a difference in my cat's behavior
I purchased the Feliway Classic Diffuser first at the vet's office to see if it would help with one of my cats' elimination on rugs and furniture. The cat is very skittish, even though she's lived with us for years. I first used it in a large bedroom, but it was plugged in about 10 feet away from one of the places where the cat sleeps. I don't think it had much of an effect. She mostly stays in one corner of the bedroom, but later in the afternoon moves to a different location, which happens to be next to an outlet. I moved the diffuser over there, and I think it is having a positive effect on her. When I pet her in her other spot, she is very vocal, as if she thinks I'm going to take here outside to clip her nails (she hates that). But when I come home from work and approach her to pet her when she's laying next to the Feliway, she is quiet, and gets into a more relaxed position, stretching out and enjoying the attention. Also, the frequency of her elimination on the rug has decreased, so I do think the product is making a difference. I recommend the product, but with some caveats:1) Probably most effective in smaller rooms.2) If in a larger room, I think the cat needs to be within a few feet from it, especially if you have a ceiling fan on in the summertime. There was no miraculous change in her behavior, but these refills are inexpensive enough that I am willing to keep using them to see if there is a longer term change in her behavior. I recommend them as a relatively inexpensive refill for the Feliway Classic Diffuser.

Absolutely purr-fect for my kitty.
I have to admit. I was skeptical about this simple thing could or even would help my sweet kitty. When we adopted our kitty Peppa, she had been surrendered to a cat shelter when she was just about to have a litter of kittens. By the time we heard about her she had already weened her kittens and was spayed. This cat shelter offers a cage free environment for the cats so they feel at home, moving from place to place freely inside their building. People can move about freely among the cats until they find the cat that appears to be drawn to them. Peppa found us so we adopted her. She became a part of our family. My husband and I are retired and at that time we had 2 yorkie pups, brother and sister. It took a few weeks but eventually the pups and kitty all adjusted nicely to each other. She is an indoor only kitty. At first our kitty seemed happy and did well as an indoor cat. But then we started noticing patches of her fur seemed to have been chewed away around the base of her tail and her lower back. There were even bite marks that were bleeding or scabbed over. We took her to our vet and they immediately prescribed drugs to treat a possible parasite. These meds are very expensive, but to our credit, we thought we were doing the best for our cat. But even after months of giving her the meds, she only seemed to be getting worse. She had pulled out almost all of her fur from the base of her tail near her back, on her belly, and between her back legs now too. I thought there had to be something better out there. Something that actually works without costing a small fortune. So I did some research. I found that you can literally spend thousands of $ trying to figure out why your cat does this and never come to a conclusion. I read that it could simply be separation anxiety from other felines. If you have 1 cat in your home, they may feel overwhelmed and begin chewing and biting their skin. A type of nervousness. Often times, simply getting another cat will resolve the issues. But it is not always possible for a person to have more than 1 cat. The research I read suggests that it’s cat pheromones that seem to be the issue with some cats. That’s where Feliway comes into view. I learned that the feline pheromones in the defuser is what seems to work. So I bought 1 to try, plugged it in and after only a week into the first defuser, I was sold on it and was shocked to find that it was actually working. IT ACTUALLY WORKS!! If you have a similar situation with your cat, I highly recommend this defuser.

calms my cats and is especially good for one who has health problems
I have four cats and they usually get along, but sometimes there are tense moments. Also, one of them is 12 years old and has had issues with his blood pressure as well as pretty constant eye issues for the past several months (don't worry, he has visits every few weeks to a veterinary ophthalmologist), plus he has inflammatory bowel disease. So, I really wanted something to help calm all the cats down as well as to deal specifically with the one who is having health problems. I had had a Feliway diffuser in the past (and still had the diffuser part) so I bought this replacement reservoir.I'm really happy with this. I do think the cats are less stressed. (I actually have one diffuser in the bedroom and one in the master bathroom, since I keep the cats up there when I am gone for the day.) The ill cat is having a very long string of good days. Of course part of that is keeping up with his medications and eye drops, but I think this is also helping. He is more up for exploring the house and he is pretty affectionate and he is not hiding under the bed as much.I find I have better luck with the Ceva product (as opposed to Comfort Zone, which also turns up if you search "Feliway" on Amazon). The pheromones are slightly different and, for whatever reason, the Ceva refills are more calming to my cats. This only lasts maybe three weeks before it is pretty empty. My diffuser doesn't have any place to do an adjustment to the temperature or heat settings so it runs at a constant rate. But, I am willing to pay for one of these refills every three weeks because of the difference this is making for my cats, especially the older, chronically ill guy. (Actually, my calico cat recently started purring after 7.5 years of me never hearing a single purr from her. I can't positively link this to the diffuser but she does FINALLY seem to be mellowing out. It's possible there is some connection.)Also, this doesn't have a smell to humans. If yours smells hot or like plastic or something, unplug it right away and get a new plug-in diffuser part (buy a starter kit instead of a refill).

Getting more expensive
Mixed results. Have an issue with a cat that scratches a rug. This works sometimes; a bit less scratching. But I just noticed the price just went up $12 since this past summer when I last purchased. Yikes!

It works!
I adopted a feral cat. She is very shy. With Feliway, she now feels like roaming around the house and being nosy like cats are. I was skeptical. I am glad I tried it. Just reordered again. I am sold on this product.

... a 17 year old deaf cat who is not happy about it
We have 2 feral kittens that we are socializing and a 17 year old deaf cat who is not happy about it. They are separate but share a common barrier through which they can see each other. There is a diffuser in each area. Since the kittens are doing well we assume that that one is helping but we know that the one in the older cat's area is working because she stopped howling at night (as some deaf cats will do) when we put it up. Expensive but worth the money. Word of caution - at first we had a diffuser behind an electonic piano which had a plastic cover to protect it from the kittens. The plastic, unbeknownst to us, attracted the oil being diffused and the whole cover and piano were saturated with oil. Fortunately, no harm to the piano. Be sure to put them in an area that isn't covered up and where there's no plastic nearby to attract the diffused oil.
