Shoulder pad came in a boxed and was well packaged. Instructions were easy to read and understand. Shoulder pad fit was good with adjustable velcro belts for chest and arm. Very comfortable. Heat settings work well, heat does not feel resistive. Heat feels comfortable warm more like radiating and equally distributed most likely due to the stones that are held in place. Netting does not interupt heat but can get hot if setting is too high. Used a few times since delivery and it has alieviated my shoulder pain. Excellent value in my opinion.

At first, I was going to purchase a different, less expensive product. I had shoulder surgery a few months ago and needed some heat treatment after all of the time using cold therapy. My orthopedic doctor suggested using heat now. What sold me on this one was the temperature control. The other one had only 3 settings. This one has exact numbers, up to 150 degrees, I believe. Now mind you, it does not get quite as hot as it says, but it is plenty of heat. I have had to turn it down on numerous occasions. I was also a bit worried about the fitting. I watched a video of one reviewer, and the UTK looked pretty loose. That is not the case. I have adjusted it to my liking. I highly recommend this product, particularly if you are recovering from shoulder surgery. Follow your orthopedic's orders. If they say to apply heat, this is what to get!

I took a star away because of those Jade stones. OK, I do like this infrared heating pad for the shoulder. However, it comes with 24 flat Jade stones that are supposed to get hot and spread out the heat. BUT they can burn your skin. Ouch. I have a torn rotator cuff and my shoulder is sensitive. As I put the heating pad on, the Jade stones are hard and hot and hit my sore spot and hurt. I want to cut them out but my wife does not want me to ruin it. I do not think it will ruin it. For the time being, I just put a dry wash cloth over my shoulder to buffer the underside of the heating pad. Here is a big tip for all. The heating pad has a cable coming out where the remote is connected. The control box is smaller than a deck of cards. easy to use and has a large display. Then the cable continues for abut 2 feet. Next there is a part that plugs into the wall and has a long cable. It must be 6 feet. Well, you need to connect these 2 cables. The one from the remote and the one that. plugs into the wall. I plugged them into each other. It looks like a typical barrel connector. But is would not stay in without me holding it. Sometimes it would stay but jiggle out. I was not happy it was a loose connection. I did not see anything in the booklet. So figured it was defective. I did a return on Amazon. Amazon sent me a new one ASAP, the next day. Well at 2am, I was looking at it and saw a notch on the connection. I then saw another notch on the other side of the connection. I looked at the other cable and saw the same notches. I then figured out that the same notches connect together. Ouch. I finally figured it out. The 2 cables connect in specific way and then lock in place. It was 2am and the new heating pad was to arrive between 5 and 8 am. So I could not stop it. I returned the new replacement and added a comment / note "The company should put a tag on the end to say "cord locks into place. Align notches. There was no mention of this or I did not see it. It does get hot which is nice and stays hot for up to 2 hours. Much better than my old OG heating pad that only got warm and cut off after 15 minute. This infrared heating pad is great.

I got the results that many others did. After many uses it wouldn't get higher than 110 degrees. I have another UTK heating pad and it easily gets to 157 - 158. Definitely a design flaw here. It does not work as advertised. Addendum: I read some reviews and someone mentioned wrapping a towel around the heating pad in an effort to insulate the heat. I tried it and was able to get the temperature up to 120 degrees. It even hit 125 once but it's still wildly inconsistent. On a positive note this heating pad fits very snugly around my shoulder and provides direct heat in a way that other heating pads simply can't. I was thinking about returning it but in my opinion the positives outweigh the negatives. I am changing my rating to 3 of 5 stars.

It fits well, but will not get above 120 degrees, nor will it hold that temp. Takes 15-20 minutes to get to 120, but cannot maintain that temp. It drops down to 110, climbs to 117, drops again. Very disappointed; will be returning. $80 for a heating pad; it should work as claimed.

The reviews were mixed here and Amazon offered word of caution so I was hesitant in ordering. However, I'm pleased to say the product does exactly what the manufacturer says it will do! I'm 5'5'' and was concerned about ordering L/XL - but again, no worries as it fits me fine. It stays on my arm while I work at my desk, it warms up to proper temp quickly, and delivers pain relief! If you wear a think shirt, you can lower the temp so it doesn't get too hot and if you're wearing a thick shirt it will heat up enough to go through that. It's an amazing product.

I have had this just wo days and it has given me quite a bit of relief from rotator cuff pain. It is easy to wear amd adjust, can be used while I am at my computer, and the long cords allow some movement. I suggest adjust the arm cuff area first, then slipping the arm into the cuff, and only then adjusting the band around the body to keep the unit in place. The unit warms up relatively quickly and holds the set temperature. The only quibble I have - I expected the "IR" to refer to a LED source of heat. The sleeve heats the stones which then in turn radiate the warmth onto the shoulder and arm. This is a minor quibble about the description - I am very pleased with how it works.
