Old Cowboy Detective
An interesting trip down through history. Having grown up around old Cowboys I loved how these stories rambles in the way of an old story telling cowboy.

Good Read
Charlie Siringo lived the life of a Texas cowboy during the last years of the nineteenth century and he had a gift of accurately describing his adventures. In reading his book, one needs to remember that it is written by a tough old Texas cowboy for whom our modern ideas of political correctness do not apply. At many points I was taken aback by his insensitivity toward racial minorities. But, when I considered the source, I was able to overlook his perceived bigotry. I recommend this book but with caveats.

This is an interesting read. Read between the lines ...
This is an interesting read. Read between the lines for more info on the era, that is, this guy has a wife and small child and no one thinks anything of it that he's gone for long periods of time. That would get a bit sticky in today's modern world. But he loves his job and he writes well. This is history from the first person, the times, the people, the events.

The editing made reading this one just a little bit distracting, but the content was wonderful.. So many of the areas he talks about are familiar to me and I can visualize the countryside and some of the personalities he encountered. The bits about "Tim" Horn were interesting. I think we'll never know if he actually killed the teenager, but it does make one wonder..

Very interesting
Very interesting read on how the law was administered across the west of America and how fast the world changed in the late 19th century America.
