The item was too small for my wife’s head. She couldn’t pull it down over her hair, unfortunately. A good product though

if you have a big head, don't buy this product!
This cap is of a really good quality, but unfortunately it is too small for me. (I take a med-large or large in hats). I used it, and from the minute I put it on, it really hurt my ears and was extremely tight. I have very fine hair and the cap was so tight, it was almost impossible to pull the hair through. (I even poked holes in the cap before using it!). I have mousy brown hair, and the cap is an off white, so it was difficult to see my hair against the colour of the cap. Upon pulling the cap off after the colouring process, I was amazing to see that the rest of my hair was completely dry, so there will definitely be no leakage with this cap. I washed it off in the shower, and was amazed when I realised I could actually fill it up with water and there was no leaking at all! Obviously all the holes had re-sealed themselves!! I did manage to highlight my hair, but it has come out patchy and not very well, just because of these problems. If you have a big head like me..... don't buy it!! lol

pain free highlights
J had my previous cap for years and it had loads of use through the years, it was also a magicap and it was brilliant for full head coverage...the only problem was the band around the rim...it was uncomfortably tight and left a fetching line around the fore head. When the first cap perished I was gutted as i couldn't find a good replacement locally, i was a bit hesitant about purchasing another magicap because of the band problem. I could not find anything as good for my requirements so I thought I would chance it and ordered Magicap pro. I paid next day delivery charge and the cap speedily arrived and I must say I am well chuffed with it. It is of good quality and while it is tight fitting it is not uncomfortably so, the rim is looser than my original and the holes were easy to poke through with no tearing. I am very happy with it and it arrived so quickly. it does the job with style.

Cheap and nasty product.!
I've given this product 1 star purely for the quick delivery other than that the product was absolutely useless.! Used for the first time last night and omg .. I had to use a thick sewing needle to pierce through the holes (which took a very long time to do) secondly the cap itself is definitely not designed for adult heads but more for a child's head and the circumference of my head is particularly small. Managed to pull onto my head (with added talc n powder) to ease any hair pulling. Started pulling through my hair the cap and managed to get the sides and top of head done but as soon as I got closer to the nape of my neck the was an almighty tear. Obviously I can't use this now due to the bleaching product I was going to use would bleed through this massive gaping hole. I had to then wet my hair strands.. apply a load of conditioner use to help ease my unbleached hair back out. This cap is absolutely useless and definitely not fit for the purpose.!! I'm going to stick with the style caps you get in the box highlighting kits you get from a supermarket.!!

Use with caution if you are allergic to dye.
I used the Magicap for the first time last night. I am allergic to hair dye and have the most awful reaction if hair dye touches my scalp. I had been using henna to take the grey out of my hair but it's nowhere near as effective as dye. I bought the Magicap as a last resort to try "highlighting" the grey out of my hair. I couldn't get the hair out myself - I had to have my daughter help me as when the cap is pulled down over your eyes, it's difficult to see what you're doing. Also, your arms get quickly tired of being in the raised position all the time if you try it by yourself. She only used about the first 3-4 rows from the front hairline and down to the sides and I wasn't expecting to see much of a difference but I was DELIGHTED to see how much grey has gone! A few days later I repeated the process again, by which time, I ignored the small spots appearing at my hairline. A couple of days after the second application I developed a hives-type reaction on my forehead, which developed into facial oedema around my eyes for a few days. The hives became a sort of acne that spread right across my forehead and down the sides, near my ears. My scalp stayed absolutely clear and my hair dyed nicely but after this reaction, which I am not sure whether it was leakage through the holes, or not, I have decided I don't think I can do this again.

Professional Product At Bargain Price
This is a good quality cap. You may find it difficult to use if not used to them. You can pierce the cap anywhere to flick the hair through with the hook, as it self seals. This is to prevent any dye leaking back to where it should not be. It is not like the cheap ones with holes so be prepared. These caps are always easier to use on short hair (foils are more commonly used on long hair), as pulling long hair through must be done gently and carefully to avoid breakage. It is a professional quality product which I use on myself with mid length Bob but may not be suitable for a complete amateur. I am incredibly pleased with this product and at a bargain price.

Great product
I used to use the Magicap years ago when I was a hairdresser in the 80's, I no longer do hair but cannot afford the price salons charge for highlighting so decided to do my own highlights. The Magicap has always been a great product, fits snugly around the head and a good quality plastic. All I had to do was poke holes in it through the guides printed on the plastic cap with the hook provided, didn't take long. Pulled my hair through the cap applied bleach to my roots saved myself a lot of money. Will continue to use this now not bothering with the hairdresser.
