Yogasleep Rohm

Love this white noise machine. Had previously been using an app on my phone. Tried the myhummy bears but these were too quiet, tried YouTube but that had issues so finally decided to get a proper machine. This one is fantastic. It’s for our baby but chose this over the one with the nightlight as he sleeps better in complete darkness. A selection of white noises, all are really relaxing. I previously hated the sound of white noise but I’m finding the noises on this machine lovely and soothing. Great volume, goes up really loud which I find good for baby. Very portable, small, easy to use and a great price. Happy mummy, happy baby here 👍

-- update Nov 2021--The orit "marpec rohm" has now suffered the same fate after 2.5 year, it won't take a charge and can't be turned on. Another piece of electrical waste generated because of how poorly it's built. Don't waste your time/money-- original review --We have an original Marpec Rohm and it is still going after 2 years. We got a second one for the next kid and we're on our third "yogasleep" rohm. Every couple of months it just won't turn on or charge. Quality seems to have vanished since the rebrand to "yogasleep"

Love it. I charge it during the day for my baby during the night. I have no idea how long it actually lasts all I know is the longest I generally put it on charge for it about 4/5 hours, then it’s on from about 7pm right to 6/7 sometimes 8am when I switch it off. It flashes a small orange light when it’s running out so you have warning before it does when you need it most. My 2 month old has now gotten that used to that particular sound that when my phone goes on it’s not quite right for him, this sound puts him in a deep sleep my phone sound makes him nap!

This little device works a treat for my 5 week old daughter, to help her settle during naps and at bedtime. I leave it on all night, it’s an absolute godsend! Cuts out anyone else in the house moving about, opening doors, flushing toilet etc. Really simple to use, quite literally an ‘on/off’ button, volume up and down buttons and a change of white noise button. Really loud if required. Well worth the money for a little bit of my sanity back! Quick delivery and sufficient packaging. Highly recommend, especially to all my fellow sleep deprived, falling to bits new parents lol!

I have been using this unit for several days and have been able to come to some conclusions. Firstly, it does work but there are two significant factors that need to be understood. I purposefully selected a unit that I believed generated the background noise because I did not want a recorded loop that would quickly become apparent. I couldn't get info from the forums or supplier but there was a US review claiming that it was generated - not recorded. On the first try I quickly recognised a repeated pattern on the noise every several seconds. It becomes pronounced overnight. It must be a loop-based system.Secondly, the battery is not up to the job. It lasts for just less than two night's sleep before switching off, yet the manufacturer/seller claims that the unit does not require power overnight. I have had this run out on me on two of the four successive sessions so I am now using it powered overnight.Apart from those problems the unit appears flexible and a suitable sound level can be set quite easily. I have increased my rating from 3* to 4* because after more use I am more pleased with it than at first. Pity about the battery!

I bought this noise machine over 2 years ago for my first baby - the original Marpac machine is still used daily and we have never had a issue with it. I therefore did not hesitate to buy this machine again for my second baby, expecting the same longevity.Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the new ‘yogasleep’ version of this machine. I have only used it a handful of times since my baby’s arrival this month (as we can hear my first child’s machine over a monitor) but it has already broken. Despite a full night on charge, the charging light no longer appears and the machine will not turn on even when plugged in. A huge decline in product quality since ‘yogasleep’ rebranding - I wish I had paid more attention to other recent 1 star reviews before purchasing.

Best thing in the world, not only does baby sleep well with it, so do we . Just brilliant, just plugs into any adapter or computer to charge, and can hold a charge for at least 12 hours, and doesn't stutter or slow down when batteries are losing there charge, consistent noise all sleep time. Great to take in baby travel bag as it's small and tough.

Does exactly what you want but they are expensive considering they regularly get stuck and won't turn off and one has fully broken within 2 years of owning it.

Battery can go a good run with one charge. I put it on charger during the night when I put the baby for the long sleep stretch and don’t need to move it around so much. Still, I don’t have to charge it every night. The three sounds are quite alright (soft and gentle and cannot hear a loop even if there is one), volume levels are good - I enjoy the option for rapid increase/decrease of the volume, when needed.I like that the size allows to put it my diaper bag or a purse when out.Best feature compared to other sound machines I’ve used, is that there is no timer - baby sleeps peacefully without getting startled each time a timer runs out.

It is small and light. We use it as baby sleep aid. On the down side, it will last about 2 nights before we run out of battery. It will play while charged but issue may arise if not removed every couple weeks. As we don’t travel with it, in retrospect perhaps we should have bought dohm. However it is definitely a good buy.

Me encantó!

I've had my portable Rohm for over a year now, and I love it! It is exactly as advertised. I remember thinking it didn't work when I first got it, but after reading some of the reviews on the "power button" issue, it was no problem. This is what one review said, and I concur:" ...turning the unit over and holding down the power button until the small indicator light comes on. As soon as it comes on, I let go. Even then, there is half a second delay before I hear "noise" but it works every time. So no more holding it down for a few seconds and wondering if that was long enough." In answer to 'why do you have to hold the button down so long'? Another review suggested, and it makes sense, that it's probably to keep it from accidentally getting turned on and running the battery down. Okay, now to continue my review. I use my unit every night and prefer the quiet ocean waves setting. I place the unit about 2 ft away on a level with my head. Perfect! It is small and easy to pack also, so I've used it when traveling - awesome! The only quirky thing I've noticed is that sometimes when I plug it in to charge after sleeping 8 hrs, the amount of time to full charge seems to vary. When you plug it in, the indicator light flashes, and when it's fully charged, the light goes off. It hasn't been a problem, because I plug it in just as soon as I get up. (I also have a larger Rohm white noise machine, which I leave in place outside my bedroom door, and it works well, too, just not really a portable unit.)ADDITION 9.14.19 - I found one more great way to use this and wanted to share it. I am a highly sensitive person with anxiety disorder which can be triggered by very bright lights as well as loud or continuous mechanical sounds, low or high pitched. In addition to using the Marpac Rohm unit as a second white noise machine for sleeping, I am now using it while awake especially in my kitchen area, with no TV or other background noise playing, to block out a constant low hum from a new modem installed by my cable company. I thought I would be able to tune out this hum, but after a few days I found myself with underlying anxiety after being exposed to this new noise for only a few minutes. I got my portable white noise unit, turned on my waves and was immediately soothed. I am using it throughout the day now, for instance, while I'm reading - it helps me stay focused - or at other times when I find myself distracted. I hope this will help even one other person who deals with anxiety issues. It is a marvelous little miracle for me. I love it!

Despite its size, this unit packs plenty of oomph, providing as much or as little white noise as needed. Plus, it is portable. Very happy.
