Best I7-8700K CPU Ever!
Love it already and I am surprised how it works out for gaming and recording too I feel so happy with this I rate it 10/10!

Blazingly fast, Super-efficient, great overclocking potential
I bought this along with several other components for a brand new custom desktop. I chose Coffee Lake as it was the newest architecture and I had heard good things about its speed and overclocking potential; also having 6 physical cores is handy! Something to note is that CPU overclocked will outperform the extreme version of it’s predecessor for single core applications (e.g. gaming) but on multicore usage you’d be better off going for the extreme edition as it offers more raw power. I tend to multitask a lot on my PC hence the need for a beefy CPU. Usually running several applications such as CAD software, games, media creation programs, and sometimes even game creation services AT THE SAME TIME is very CPU (and RAM) intensive, so I chose to go with the I7 for the extra power and speed provided. The CPU itself came properly boxed, no heat sink included which I’m glad is the norm now as the stock heat sinks that intel used to provide were never enough! Also, the inclusion of a nice little sticker was good to go on the case 😉 Plugging into the motherboard was simple. Bearing in mind that your motherboard will have to support the 1151 socket for this to fit AND function. I went with a high-end board as to not bottleneck my system (see my other reviews for that item). Running tests, I am very happy. I used the built in overclocking utility in my motherboards BIOS and that managed to easily push it to 4.9Ghz which is better than I expected for automatic overclocking. The system runs stable and damn quick. I ran a Geekbench and Cinebench to test the performance of the CPU and have added the results as images. These results are from AFTER the Meltdown/Spectre mess. Even after the Meltdown and Spectre updates I haven’t noticed too big a slow down to be honest. My desktop keeps up with me well. In fact, I’m glad I went for the fastest model now to compensate for the reduction in speed across all devices. I’m so happy with this purchase, it’s worth the extra cash from an I5. If you need multitasking and speed work your budget around this. I recommend this product. Always happy with Intel. ***If you found this review helpful please don't forget to mark it as helpful below, thanks!***

Fast, does not disappoint!
After having an old i3-590 for so long, I decided to finally make the jump to a bigger and better processor- and with all the reviews this thing got, I can firmly say that it does not disappoint whatsoever. Installation proved a little tricky to figure out, but it wasn't really an inherent issue with the product itself, more the motherboard. Upon getting it up and running, the performance of my PC knows no limits, it even turned my GPU into a bottleneck, which amazes me. All in all, this thing is absolutely top quality and very affordable all the same. I'd absolutely recommend it for anyone wanting to make a jump.

A very powerful CPU that makes light work of all day to day and gaming tasks right out of the box. Fine for the average user although buying the 8700 non K might save some money. For more technical users this thing runs hot... a bit too hot. Anyone wanting to actually utilise the unlocked 'k' status of this chip and do some over clocking will need to budget at least another £75 to the system cost because a premium cooler like a Le Grand Macho RT or NH-D15 plus good case airflow is the minimum required for over clocking. A delid would be even better but that voids the warranty.

Is it worth upgrading?
I just upgrade "often" rather than "when needed", and indeed there really isn't much difference between my old 4790K and this CPU. I have to admit, though, that this CPU seems to be in idle mode most of the time, lol. It barely ever raises a sweat, so I am assuming it's more future proof. Part of the reason for the upgrade was more the faster RAM and the addition of NVMe support, both of which are certainly a lot faster than from the days of the 4790K. In particular the NVMe is a rocket! But is it worth it? If you want a huge boost in gaming performance and already have a 4790K or anything later then then I would continue to wait. If your current system has a lesser CPU than a 4790K then sure, it's worth it. But then you know gaming performance always had far less to do with the CPU than your GPU so always the best option is to upgrade your GPU first. I just upgrade everything now and then so it's no disappointment to me. It's a very powerful CPU. These CPU's are known to get hot if you overclock. If you buy an Asus board, they, by default, overclock the CPU, and you will need a good cooler. The 10% extra performance they get out of the CPU results in 40% more heat, so that's 140W. And that's a partial overclock. If you want to fully overclock then you need something capable of handling a lot more. However, these CPU's will overclock well. According to some, the best benefit is obtained by taking all cores to 4.8GHz

This CPU is absolutely amazing. Intel is always and goes to of mine and I do not regret buying this. This is a beast, it can handle any task you throw at it. I would suggest buying a good aftermarket cooler, this doesn't come with any cooler. It wasn't too hard to cool, a normal air cooler would suffice. The 8700k can be easily OC with an EZ tune depending on your board. It overclocks well. Although it has a pretty hefty price tag, I would still buy this purely because there is no denying this is one of the best CPUs out there. Would definitely recommend.

Great cpu
At first I didn't wanted to spend hundreds of pounds to get a 30% faster cpu but after too many programs freezing I decided that I really don't want that anymore. Good decision. No freezing apps since then :) There were even odd moments in games when fps were dropping for no reason like in Mass effect Andromeda when captain Shepperd is aboard the spaceship, in space. I used to have massive fps drop although there were pretty much nothing happening and I had 60+ fps usually. With this cpu it's 60+ there as well. For reference I'm using a 1070 and playing at 2k at max settings.

Noch immer eine TOP -CPU!

This processor rocks everything you throw at it. I use it primarily for gaming and video encoding purposes and it does every task very smoothly without even using all 6 cores. This is the need for next gen PC’s.

Super super recomendo melhor processador que existe no atual momento porem o preço um pouco alto mais com todas taxas do brasil não poderia ser mais barato mais enfim recomendo parabéns para quem adquirir este produto.

Coming from an i7 2600K overclocked at 4.5GHz, I expected only a mild increase in speed. That 8086K to me feels about 50% faster then my older overclocked system. Everything is fast and responsive as it should be and I have lots of overclocking headroom. The nicest thing for me is the CPU temp, which went from around 60 degrees when idle to now 37 degrees at idle and a mere 50 under full load, and my CPU fan speed is still not maxed out. Planning on overclocking to 5GHz on all cores soon, and eventually more. For this purpose I'm glad I have a 8086K and not a 8700K. Intel's binning process guarantees that 8086K will run at minimum 5GHz on all 6 cores.
