KOH-I-NOOR 5347 5.6mm Diameter Mechanical Clutch Lead Holder Pencil - Red

I bought this when I started a "sketching" class with a local artist. Before long, most of the class had joined me!! Brilliant for serious artwork, but also perfect as the "one pencil" to always carry in your top pocket.

The most beautifully easy to hold soft leaded comfortable clutch pencil it's more red in colour than it appears in the photo its not too light or too heavy it is sturdy and feels really good I prefer it to my fabre castle jumbos the only downside is the gold writing came off the side of the pen in just a few days.

I had to youtube how to work the pencil but its easy when you know how!!! It is a good size and feels quite robust, just heavier than I was expecting so not sure how I will get on if having to hold it for a fair time. I haven't used it yet but looking forward to it. It came with one graphite 'stick' inside which I also wasn't expecting - not sure if its just an HB or not but that was a nice surprise

Love these pencils I now have 3 of them 2 for graphite leads and one with tricoloured lead I love the thickness of the lead which give bold strokes for fast and loose big sketches I also have the coloured leads they do and in a case it all makes a versatile drawing set

Nice to use

These work so much better than the cheaper plastic jawed version. At around £4 per pencil they are not much more expensive either. If you want to splash out, relatively, you could spend £8 and get a Full Metal Jacket Version that includes a built in sharpener.

This is a great pencil and I love using it except you have to buy the sharpener separately and it has to be one made to the diameter of the lead.

I got it to sketch with. Perfect. It makes light, dark, thin, heavy marks. I can bear down or lighten up. I feel pretty fearless with it. I love this pencil.
