Easy to Assemble Large Compost Bin
A friend recommended this one. It’s easy to assemble and was shipped quickly. The 3 metal rods that supports the bin & the rubber material that encloses the bin are well made. The material is slitted so installing the rods is easy. Our friend says the 3 rods are sufficient & hold the composting material well as the bin fills up.Given that the rods which become slightly shorter than the top of the bin when driven into the ground my wife & I decided to add several snow taller snow stakes. One to give it a more rounded shape as well as to make it sturdier. It was easy to weave in the additional stakes as there are ample vertical slits in the material to weave them through. It looks great, we’re in the process of filling it up & when it’s complete it will yield a lot of compost. The material should easily last for years & is easily mobile when we want to move it to start a second batch.Very reasonable priced & quality materials.

needs better support but still an okay buy
This is a pretty good product. I bought it because i like the idea that i could expand it. My one gripe with this is how it's kinda floppy. It comes with stakes and all but it just isn't enough. To the makers of this product, i would recommend using a more stiffer material that won't fall over on it's own weight. That said, it's easy to support it with extra stakes or poles of some kind and when filled to capacity well, there is no room for it to fold in on itself. It just makes adding material a bit more of a chore than it needs to be.

For All Compost Enthusiasts!
I love this bin because it holds a lot! I'm doing my part to help save the earth by recycling. I shred old papers along with all kinds of other goodies to my compost, except things like meat, bones, and dairy products. I got a little fancy and decided to put stones around my bin. Lol! I keep the compost lightly watered to help break down the matter. KEY TIP #1: To deter rodents or other pests, periodically drop peppermint oil around the outside of the bin. KEY TIP #2: For extra support, I used the extra large garden stakes from Lowe's Home Improvement Center and they worked wonderfully!

Good. Does the job
Does the job as its a pretty simple design. I didn't need the gloves but thanks I guess. Note that its not a perfect cylinder nor is it metal. It's a tough piece of plastic thats has some bend to it so its gonna be a cylinder with a little bit of floppy ness to it. It does the job well though so no complaints

Budget Solution
It’s up, but the number of stakes furnished is inadequate, so it flops inward until full. I am looking for additional stakes to add, but for the price, there should have been at least double the number supplied. It went up quickly, though it was windy, which made for some struggle. This is my first experience composting, but it seemed like a good way to dispose of chicken litter. In addition I have about a quart of kitchen scraps per day (things like coffee grounds that the chickens can’t have), so that no longer goes to the landfill. I can’t rate the efficacy of this system for at least a year (as I understand it takes that long to get a usable product) but for someone with no construction skill, this unit provides an affordable means to begin composting.

Great size
This is very large. My husband didn’t put it in a circle. He put post in a square and then zipped tied the wall to the post and the front of it is open so it’s much easier to shovel the dirt and compost. If you want to do it this way too. Be sure to lay out the wall in the sun for a bit so it’s easier to get it to form better.

Poor Quality
The 6 support rods provided with the 500 gal. compost bin were not enough to hold upright. Could have easily used another 4 or 6 to hold in place. Additionally, the length of each rod was a good 12 inches too short after hammering into the ground. I tried calling the company to resolve the issues and could never get through to talk to anyone. I sent an email describing my concerns and as of today (5/21) have not gotten a reply. I would not recommend this product.

Don't recommend
It was super difficult to handle, and doesn't open up very well. The rods aren't strong enough to hold it in place. I haven't been able to fill it much or see how much it will really hold or how well it composts since it curls too much in on itself. So it isn't really functional without maybe purchasing much more secure stakes. Right now, it doesn't hold very much compost. I feel like the value is mediocre at best. I'm going to have to do a lot of extra work to get it to hold anything.
