Great NAS with added functionality
I have been using Synology NAS for quite a few years now so will be a bit biased as I think they are great for business purposes, they also have a lot of business applications that can really help small and large businesses a like. They require very little maintenance and are easy to set up.I also mess about with full blown windows servers in the way of Dell power edge systems and at the end of the day it is horses for courses. The Dell server is great for what we use it for. the Synology provides us with a simple solution to some activities that we did not want to hoist on the windows server.

It doesn’t work like it should. Is my data safe??? Idk
Absolutely rubbish. This is my 3rd synology nas and I’m TRYING TO upgrade from a 4 year old one.Don’t believe the marking BS.Can I migrate via the “migration assistant” that they tell you is so wonderful NOPE. (Because my NAS is a category 2 NAS (what ever that means))Can I move disks across. No.Can I use Backup to move the files, well sort off. You have to do it in small batches of files otherwise the freezes. Now I’ve wasted many hours sorting that out, I can’t share my files on my home network because windows won’t see the new nas on the network. It can see the old nas, but not the new one.I’m on my 10th exchange with synology help team who don’t help, they just send out very link checklist for you to easy your evenings withAVOID
