Solaris by Stanislaw Lem (2016-03-03)

First rate!

I got this after seeing the original Tarkovsky masterpiece, which blew me away. Easily one of the best movies ever made, regardless of genre. That may be why I had bailed on the book, halfway through. A letdown. At least in this translation, it lacked almost all of the philosophical complexity and philosophical implications of the film.

Fell in love with original film, never looked back, the book was the next step. Good old Stanislaw lem.

This book features one of the most realistic alien entity’s I have encountered in a SF book. Recommended.
