Walabot DIY 2 Advanced Stud Finder and Wall Scanner Bundle

Excellent product.....detects wall studs, electrical wiring.....metal plumbing (not sure it would detect PEX tubing). I've used it multiple times and am completely satisfied

This device works well after calibration, quickly detecting studs, plex, and copper pipes. It also gives color indications for Romex and some conduit pipes. I bought it primarily for stud finding, but it is a plus for other things within the walls. The only hassle is the constant calibration if you pull the sensor away from the wall to another wall. It could have a memory for at least one minute before needing re-calibration. Overall, it is a good product, accurate, and innovative

I invested in this purchase because it was supposed to be the new and better Walabot. Turns out the only 2 things improved are : 1. You no longer need a cable connected between the device and your phone. Now it sets up a private wifi connection between the two. I can see where this is both an improvement and a eh. 2. Now you can use it with an iPhone. I don't use an iPhone, so not really much of an improvement as far as I'm concerned. So that was the good news.... all the development went into making the Walabot compatible with the iPhone. What they don't tell you is that Now you can only use it on drywall walls. Yep. Only good for drywall. CBS construction? REMOVED. Wood paneling? REMOVED. I'm a handyman in South Florida, my buddy shows me his Walabot, and I'm impressed.I get the new one and find out it's no better than a basic stud finder. Then to add insult to injury, you can't return it through Amazon directly. Amazon won't take it back. You have to return it directly to Walabot, at your expense.

I love this machine. I can really see the outline of the studs in the studs in the wall. It saves unfruitful holes in the wall and the time and expense to repair them.

I've been wanting one of these for years, but they didn't have one that worked with Iphone. Well this one does, finally. It does find items behind walls you never knew were back there. Why they continue to put the professional mode on it is beyond me. Why would you use a mode that is all fuzzy and nondescript, when the regular mode is clear and crisp. It's a pain to have to calibrate the thing every time you turn it on. Plus if you don't keep it on the wall constantly it will loose it's calibration and not show studs that you know are there. The next improvement should be, that when you scan a stud it also show where any drywall fasteners or wire protectors are located. A built in display screen would be the ultimate upgrade.

I was excited to try this device out, but upon doing so quickly discovered some irksome issues. For starters, it connects to your phone via WiFi and since you can't connect to 2 WiFi networks at once, it means it will disconnect from your WiFi while using the app. Bluetooth or NFC would be better. If you are using the app and device and someone calls or texts you, you will lose the connection and your phone will reconnect your default WiFi. Switch back to the app and the cycle repeats. What makes this more annoying is that every time the app starts back up it requires waving it around on the wall in big circles again to calibrate it. Why it cannot remember and reuse the most recent calibration setting is beyond me. I had also thought it could penetrate through more than just drywall, but there are no options for deeper scans or different wall materials, sadly. Basically, it's a fancy studfinder that costs more than some other 5-in-1 studfinders one can find here. They also missed the opportunity to make this little brick of a device a phone charger by making the USB-C port bi-directional. Maybe a little LED flashlight on it as well if they really want to increase the utility of it.

Every DIY’er needs one of these. It located studs behind a tiled wall for me to install grab bars. This thing is amazing. Should have bought one a lot sooner. Thought it was expensive, but it was money well spent in my case. Would definitely buy it again.

Ist nur für Trockenbau geeignet. Der Vorläufer war besser einsetzbar. Allerdings mit der beschränkenden OTG Kabelbindung. Jetzt gibt es keine Wahlmöglichkeit mehr. Nur noch Trockenbau. Genereller Vorteil: Man kann nach Nagetieren in der Wand suchen. Was sehr negativ auffällt. Auf Raufaser Tapeten nicht mehr einsetzbar. Man muss dazu die Silikonpads abkleben, da diese scharfkantig sind. Ich bin daher auf den 700€ Bosch Scanner umgestiegen.

I bought this stud finder for my son, and he says it's really helped him a lot. He says it's easy to use and very accurate. On his say-so, I would recommend this item!
