Our toddler son loves his Imaginarium plastic train set. It is a battery-operated kit that was purchased during Toys 'R Us' final days. One day, we found that a crucial, small piece of track was missing, and he was devastated that he could no longer complete an entire track. To replace that piece, we were looking at $20 for 4 pieces of a WOODEN track (there was no plastic one available), and so I decided to look for a third party set instead. That is when I stumbled across this Orbrium one.PROS- Great value for 68 pcs at $29- Includes 4 of the pieces we were missing PLUS 9 of the other section that we may need to (Imaginarium only included 1 of each with the original train set)- A barge, barge dock, cross track, and switch tracks to further expand any existing tracks- Wooden pieces fit the plastic Imaginarium tracks perfectly- Imaginarium and Thomas trains glide well on these wooden tracks- Solid, hard, smooth wood- Package comes with a link to the Orbrium website where multiple track designs are available to help you utilize all the pieces that come with this set- Expansion options with other Orbrium setsCONS- The plastic, arched bridge is not wood. The Thomas wood train we have is able to barely go under the bridge. It would have been nice if the bridge went a tad taller, but because it is the same height as the Imaginarium's riser, the height seems to be standardOverall, for slightly more than the Imaginarium replacement tracks, we were able to get a whole slew of expansion options with this Orbrium set. We were quite happy with the additional pieces as we could now really design the Imaginarium tracks to maximize the table space they are played on. very well made, easy to use. Nicely packaged, arrived on time. Compatible with Thomas trains.update: the thomas trains without battery power work well on these tracks. The battery powered trains worked well on the straight track, but had trouble navigating the curves.

Off all the toy purchases, in fact, of all the purchases I have made on Amazon, this is by far the best one in regards to affordability and quality.At this price point and for all the great pieces, this deal simply cannot be beat. I don't think you can find this set anywhere else at this price. It alone makes me happy to be a loyal Amazon Prime member year after year.There are some wonderful deals on Amazon and eBay for wooden trains and track sets. I especially search eBay for USED sales/auctions. You just have to spend some time to research and compare prices and quality. It can be frustrating, but the time spent is well worth the significant dollars saved.NOTE: When doing eBay searches, only search for USED items. The new items listed are oddly way overpriced compared to Amazon and many are knock-off items from China that do not meet quality control standards. Also, for used items, be aware of the lead paint recalls that happened some years ago for the Thomas RC2 models. 90% of them involved red paint, and some yellow paint official products. Red paint color vibrancy and durability is hard/expensive to do and lead helps it adhere it better, and thus makes it cheaper. So, be mindful of that.Ok, back to this set.The orange risers, blocks and tracks are ingenious and plentiful. THIS ALONE MAKES THE PURCHASE WORTH IT. My son loves them. They are stable and adds a unique look to the sets which we like a lot. The vast amount of pieces and unique shapes makes this set well thought out and all encompassing. It is like a 425 piece Craftsman toolbox for trains. Can't find a piece that fits? Just search a bit harder and there it is!The female/female and male/male connector pieces alone are a godsend for complex track and building designs.The plentiful 3.5" curved piece are especially critical if you are building sets on a 49" x 34" type standard train table with lots of big structures.QUALITY?Well. What do you want? Yes, you can spend more for the arguably better Official Thomas & Friends tracks. But to do so, you would realistically be paying Ferrari prices for Honda quality, to get them.Why not just simply spend your Hyundai* dollars on a purchase that is fairly close, or possibly better than Honda quality that will give you years and years of memories and fun.*I don't own a Hyundai, but a lot of friends do. They love them and so would I if they brought he Elantra wagon (i40 Estate in Europe) to the US market. :)when you can find deals like this on Amazon, just walking into Toy$RUs, makes me shudder when I see their prices, especially considering the fact they are now the official retailer of the Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Wooden Train line, egads. Things will only get worse from now, in regards to higher retail prices.The ingenious and plentiful orange risers and unique pieces are just a joy to play with. My son is 2 years old and he loves it.The quality is very good. Not perfect, but I am very satisfied FOR THE PRICE.

The pieces fit with our IKEA and target set. The tracks are great quality and come with a lot. Definitely worth purchasing.

Well made.. The boys creating multiple track designs.. Well worth the money.

These worked perfectly with our wooden Thomas train tracks as well as some ikea pieces we have. My only complaint is that they should include more of the uphill/downhill track pieces because there are not nearly enough. If you use the triple bridge heights you need so many to actually get your track back down to the ground. There isn’t enough! If you want to use a second bridge elsewhere in your track, forget it. So these work great, but to really make use of all the tiers you need to buy more of the uphill/downhill track pieces separately.

Great way to add elevation to your wooden railway. The track connects to the orange parts of the riser so it is very secure. It doesn't slide off when pushing trains up it. We had ones on wooden blocks before that were always falling over.
