My First Sewing Machine Book: 35 fun and easy projects for children aged 7 years +

This book is full of simple sewing projects for my 8 yr old granddaughter. Easy to understand and she loved it.

Purchased this book for my 8 year old granddaughter for Christmas. I started teaching her to sew this summer and I think this book will help her start sewing on her own. Has many cute and easy patterns to sew and helpful sewing machine tips.

I got my 8 year old this book and a Janome sewing machine for Christmas - and have been very pleased with both. My mother was a sewer, so I've been around it all my life, but I no longer have her and do not have half the skill she had. But my daughter loves getting crafty and wanted to try it. It has been a good purchase. We just finished making these three projects pictured for our county fair - the Fox bag with felt, a pencil case out of scrap fabric, and a laundry bag. They are not perfect. I can point out a dozen flaws, but we had a good time making them (most of the time, ha!) and we have three items she can use and be proud of! I did most of the cutting and pinning, she did the bulk of the sewing. Definitely recommend this book if you are not a master yourself but want to just sew something. I'm sure we will make more projects out of this book, my daughter has her eye on the laptop case and the dolls. I should add the only direction I did not follow was to baste. We just pinned and sewed. I haven't noticed basting helping.

A pretty good first sewing book. Fairly easy to understand and not too long so as to lose interest.

When I got my granddaughters started on sewing, this book was part of the impetus to get them going. The girls pored over the book and after receiving their fabric they started sewing up projects in this book. The fox purse turned out adorable. The apron was perfect for their mom!

Great ideas and easy for my 10 year old to follow along.

My kids LOVE sewing and this book has great visuals and enough written instruction that it’s clear what to do. I’m definitely happy with this purchase. The projects are simple enough that they are approachable for kids. Hours and hours of sewing fun!

Nice book but just not what I was looking for.

Bought as a gift but not yet given (birthday) - looks great!

Great easy to understand instructions

This has been a great sewing book for kids. My grandchildren have made several projects successfully. The instructions are clear and the item lists contain very basic fabrics and notions easily found at home or in a fabric store.

I’m sure as a novice I can learn from this book
