Crochet for the Kitchen: Over 50 Patterns for Placemats, Potholders, Hand Towels, and Dishcloths Using Crochet and Tunisian Crochet Techniques Hardcover – June 1, 2013

Has some of of the cutest kitchen items I've ever seen. It's a little bit more of intermediate patterns ; in fact, I've been intimidated in even starting a project. The patterns/color combinations are gorgeous, not something I'd have laying around. I would still recommend it for an intermediate crocheter with a few slightly easy patterns. They are certainly a goal to work towards unless you are like me, a perfectionist who can't enjoy a project unless every stitch is perfect!

First of all, there are not 50 patterns in the book, there are only 45. Secondly, I was hoping for a variety of items to make. To me, kitchen means dish cloths, dish towels, trivets, and other things. This book has patterns for 32 potholders, 10 placemats, 2 hand towels, and 1 dish cloth. So if you are looking for potholders patterns, this book would be good for you, but if you want a variety, look elsewhere.

I've made two of the designs in this book & for the price I paid for the book it was worth it. I made the designs for gifts forChristmas & they turned out beautifully. Some of the instructions were confusing at first but after concentrating on the way this person maps out the pattern & designs the instructions I like the way she has chosen to lay out the instructions. She has a neat (as in concise) way of laying out the instructions so that the design comes out very pretty.

I was looking forward to this book; I've been interested in making more towels and washcloths and I was hoping to find something interesting and different here. Also, I've been experimenting with Tunisian crochet and the cover made me think there would be some here.There is some Tunisian here and some towels and washcloths, but there are a lot of potholders. If that's what you want, this is definitely for you.I did appreciate the vintage inspiration here; I enjoy that very much.

Purchased book to crochet kitchen towels and pot holders. Book was hardcover which I did not expect, but really like, and is in like new condition. Highly recommend seller.

The patterns are beautiful! I really want to make the blue ones inside of the front cover. Most of the patterns use size 3 cotton yarn which is hard to find. There are a couple that use size 4. I have not tried any of them yet.

I really bought the book for one specific project, but was delighted to find many that will make nice gifts as well as be useful in my kitchen, The directions appear to be clear and concise and the layout of the book is well done.

I was expecting more diversity and some charts. Some lovely patterns but the price is too high.

Wieder meist sehr schönes Design der norwegischen Designerin; ein Teil der Topflappenkollektion wirkt zwar etwas "altbacken" (mit rüschenartigen Elementen usw. in Bonbonfarben), andererseits ist aber auch Vieles sehr Geschmackvolle wieder dabei, wie ich es von der Künstlerin in anderen Büchern kenne. An die englischen Häkelbezeichnungen und Abkürzungen gewöhnt man sich schnell.
