Impressed with quality & responsiveness
The media could not be loaded. I did my research and decided to take a chance on this 72cc model. After I mixed-up the fuel mixture ( 93 octane + 1/15 B12 fuel treatment + 1/40 Moly oil treatment ), I primed the engine with the primer bulb, full choked it for three pull and it fired right up. Choke off after 30 seconds. I am using this to plant arborvitaes from a 5 gallon container. I started using the 8” auger which is perfect if you have few roots. If you have roots, use a 4” to test, and then the 8” auger. If you don’t, the auger may get caught in a root and the whip-lash could break your wrist or tear your shoulder. This is definitely a two man machine. I’ve been using it by myself and it is a great workout. I like it, but caution must be used. Here are some tips: remove any grass or debris. Tap your hole with a smaller auger to break-up roots. Divide hole into quads and clear dirt after each quad. This auger does a great job at breaking-up the dirt for planting. Use a 4” auger bit to driLL through difficult roots. Finish with 8” - 12” Auger bits. Prepare your holes!Treat your machine weLL and it wiLL treat your weLL. Use caution, if it catches a large root, it wiLL kick like a mechanical buLL. 🐂 BDJ

Great
I give it 5 stars because it did its job and did it well, I used the 12” digger for my fence posts. I would recommend getting the 72cc if you are going to be digging lots of 12” holes. The 54cc I got was Definitely lacking the power and took me a bit longer but it got it done. I read all the reviews about bogging and buttons breaking, well I dug 22 holes and it started every time and with out any issues. I can definitely see lots of user error, the pull string is not long so I can only assume that’s why it broke in one of the reviews, not starting or locking up, it’s 2 stroke, you need oil in the gas. Very user friendly if you have common sense. I would recommend to anyone but for bigger jobs, I would go with the one size up (72cc) I just didn’t want to wait for it! This cowboy has work to do

Game changer
This is a great product. Cut down digging time immensely. Only problem I had was the extension broke, had it re-welded and it’s better than ever.

Caution clearly no quality check before shipping.
Fueled up and started up good unfortunately the transmission appears to be frozen on it so it won’t spin the auger at all with or without attached. Also comes double boxed with no packaging inside to protect it so a part of the plastic casing was broken. No.Will update review after contacting manufacturer for service repair or return.

Good value
I used to use post hole diggers almost every week when I built decks for a living 35 years ago. I used a two man digger and it was still miserable every time we hit a rock. I rented them because purchasing one was so expensive. This digger is much smaller than the ones I used to use and a small fraction of the price. I was skeptical that it could do the job, but figured I would try as it was less than a few days of rental. I am a big guy (about 290lbs) and it sent me flying as it hit rocks. That sounds bad, but it a question of physics - is it easier for the digger to go through rock or throw me across the lawn. I was tossed across the lawn. It has plenty of power. After feeling like I was breaking my wrist a few times, I found the best method was to use the throttle to ease downward and feel the rocks as I went pulling up to clear the hole of dirt often. I would adjust the direction and position the bit to knock the rock loose. Once I got the knack of the digger, I found it was easy to control and its light weight was a feature not a flaw. I could pull it out of the hole quickly which pulled a lot of dirt out.Sometimes the best option is to set the digger aside and pull rocks out by hand, but I also used a wet/dry shop vac and pressure washer to clear the hole and dig when I was near our propane line. That method make a mud pit around the hole and is no fun. However, the combination of digger, shop vac, pressure washer, and hand tools made the job of many post holes for a fence reasonable for one over weight soon to be senior citizen. My unit starts easily, but I am used to two cycle engines. It uses the same fuel mix as my Stihl equipment (50:1) so it was easy to keep fueled. In fact, I did my whole fencing project and didn't need to refuel once.So far it has worked for me and was already a bargain over renting the equipment for a few days to do the immediate job. Now I have a digger for other projects.

perfect for sand, and if you need different size holes.
purchased this so i wouldn't have to hand dig all my holes for a fence project. I am in sand and its not terrible to dig them by hand but this thing does it in a fraction of the time and is saving my back. Its light enough to easily handle, powerful enough to cut through smaller roots and started quickly right out of the box. It also comes with more than enough auger sizes and extensions which was nice since i am using 3 different pipe sizes. It will dig a 12" hole, 3.5 feet deep in less than a minute. Not sure what it would do in hard clay but for my location its absolutely amazing. i am about 1/4 of the way through my holes and it is holding up beautifully.

Such a great price. Instructions include pictures which is helpful. Purchased to dig holes for concrete piers and very excited to get started.

Wish I could give it more Stars!
Dug half of a hole like butter then turned it off to clean out the dirt. Went to start the machine and the cord assembly snapped off in my hand. I love the tool just sad that it broke 10 min into the job… Hope I can get a replacement part asap since my projects are on hold.
