No, you shouldn't use the red variety on a water pump, and no, you won't be able to remove it unless you apply 450F heat and remove the bolt with 250ft lbs of torque, assuming the bolt can even take anywhere near that without shearing off. (highly unlikely, so then you'd really be in for some fun).

Heady duty threadlocker might be the wrong strength. The blue color threadlocker Loctite ought to be strong enough for a hanger rod.
