***Wonderful, but.....***
"Upgraded Magnetic Thermal Insulated Door Curtain, Thicken Polyester Fiberfill & Thicker Oxford Fabric, Temporary, Retractable Door Screen Curtains Magnetic Closure for French Door Sliding Door"These definitely serve a good purpose and do their job well. I put these up last night in no time at all, by myself and I'm 60. I did not realize the amount of cold air that seeps through the cracks coming through my French doors in the kitchen, but quickly realized it after installing these. After putting it up, you could see how it captures the trapped cold air between the thermal blanket and the door frame because it's containing the cold air rather than allowing it to seep into my home. Here's the problem which could be huge depending upon the setup of your home and/or your personal preferences: my French doors are not sliding (these are made for SLIDING doors and does specify that. I could not find any for non-sliding double glass doors). I had to sacrifice how I get in and out without using the middle magnetic slit since it's not usable in my circumstance. As with most exterior doors, my French door opens inwards into my kitchen (my left door is the one that opens inward. The right hand door is completely static). The magnetic opening/slit is in the middle of the blanket, therefore, it lays between the left hand door that opens inwards and the right hand door which does not open at all) so it will not accommodate my left side door that opens inwards. It can still be done, I have to peel away the thermal blanket off of the left side of the door frame so I can open the left side door inwards to let my dog out). Still, in my opinion, it's worth using. So, as I see it, your options are limited if you're buying this for non-sliding double doors. You may have to do it the way I did, OR apply it to the outside (Yes, the door frame on the outside of your home) as long as your frame will allow it and even then, if you do not have a sliding glass door, it's going to be difficult to open one side when the slit for the blanket to go in and out is in the middle of the blanket. I don't want to install it on the outside of my home because I don't want it to look like it would be inconvenient for me to get outside quickly if I needed to in the event I need to get out quickly into my backyard, etc. I do have a lot of security cameras around my house, but nonetheless, I'm just not a fan of putting this on the outside of my home. So, letting my dog in and out into the backyard to potty is not at all convenient, but it is do-able. You're going to have to weigh your own pros and cons. For me, I'm only to have these up in the bitter, bitter cold. They do inhibit any sunlight getting in.My home was noticeably warmer last night and that was only one door I completed. I have three more exterior doors to do. One is a garage door leading from the kitchen to the inside of the garage. On that particular door I will install it on the inside of the garage leading into my kitchen since no one will be able to see it. Second con, no matter what side of the door frame you apply this to with the velcro tape that is provided, how is that going to look during the months that you are not using it? If it's on the inside of your home you're going to be looking at it all the time. If it's on the outside of your home, other people will be looking at it. Third con, based on the second con, if you pull the sticky velcro tape on and off, it can take the paint off your door frame at some point. I know because I've already had to do it to make an adjustment. It took the interior paint off of my door frame. If you do take it off every year, you're going to have to buy new velcro the next time you need to reinstall them. While these are not major issues when you're trying to survive Sub-Zero weather and keep your furnace from running constantly, it is definitely something to think about. Other than the above velcro tape cons, I do believe these are worth their weight in gold. I am definitely going to keep them because we are coming into a very nasty, nasty cold snap and ice storm in the Midwest and I don't want to pay high heating bills and risk water pipes freezing because I didn't at least try to winterize my home the best that I can. Second to that, should the electricity go off in this bitter cold and snow, at least I will have peace of mind knowing that I did what I could to keep the bitter, bitter cold outside and not have my furnace battle with incoming cold air. Personally, I'd rather be a little inconvenienced by all this than deal with the cold air coming in through doors that are not sealed well and deal with a furnace that runs more than it would had I not done something to keep the cold air out as much as possible. One more thing... after completely washing down your door frame to get all dirt and grease off of it if there is any, you may have to heat up your door frames with a blow dryer to get the velcro to stick the first time. I experienced this putting it up. My door frame was a little bit colder than it should have been in the velcro would not stick.Overall, I think this was a smart purchase and I'm already noticing my home is staying MUCH warmer and my furnace is running a lot less.

Fantastic Quality, Value and Effectiveness!
The typical application for this would be over a patio door, however, bought one of these to help with cold drafts and heat economy to block off an open arch between a living room and dining room, trying to assist a living room space heater to keep the room warm. This was an upgrade from a simple plastic tarp hung from 'no-damage' plastic hooks. While that temporary solution made a huge difference, this thing is an absolute dream for me now! It's a nice, insulated & quilted durable nylon, and the best part is the snap-shut magnetic center closure! My first mounting attempt was with the same type "no-damage" plastic clips. I'd purchased a grommet kit for tarps and such, and put four grommets in the top of it, but had some issues with the adhesive hooks, and just decided to use the included Velcro mounting that came with the curtain. That alone is amazing... a big roll of wide (1"?) color-matched black Velcro hook material, enough to totally mount and seal the thing on three sides! For now, I chose to only top mount it for my purposes, but if it were over an exterior patio door would definitely seal it up on all three sides. It is recommended to leave a very tiny clearance gap at the bottom and to mount the center just a tad higher than the corners, in both cases so the bottom doesn't drag, especially when using the magnetic doorway.A fantastic value versus cheaper alternatives, and I'm just thrilled to have this! I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a low-cost, high-quality aid with heat/cold issues, or also for good privacy on a patio door that isn't covered.

Keep your heat in
We purchased this to use on our walk out basement French doors. They work extremely well to keep the heat in our basement. We noticed our electric bill was a considerable percentage lower than last year in all the months we had this in place. It is very easy open the doors when needed. It was easy to set up, well made, and thick material. Well worth the money it saved us.

Great in an old drafty home!
Adhesive is great works great to keep draft out in the winter. Little hard to get lined up perfect in an older home where things are not square anymore.

Great thermal barrier
Works great. Velcro and glue not strong enough. Had to buy heavy duty taxks to hang

It was okay..
It did block out the cold from the Midwest winters we have, and you could tell the difference if you had it pulled to the side. It did have some tiny holes in it that did let light through. The magnetics down the middle worked great. My reasoning on the 3 stars was that it was not completely blackout as it was letting sun in. We did end up taking it down after winter. The adhesive strength was really good that it took paint off the wall. I just wish I could have reused it, but I could not, so I did have to throw it away.

Good!
It's not extremely thickly padded, but it is perfectly proportioned for my sliding glass door opening. To me, the amazing way it closes in the middle, so very well, with magnets that seem to be perfectly aligned to draw one another together, is great. The instructions do suggest that when you attach it, you should attach the middle of the top just a bit higher; this is probably to help the center to align so as to close so very perfectly. The little "thumb tacks" seem to be a bit tougher and longer than average thumbtacks, more like small nails with a wide plastic head. Altogether I'm very pleased with this purchase.
