Excited to use this book! It has recipes from when I was a child. Big illustrations and easy recipes to follow! A must for any retro cook!

Bought this book originally for myself but found I needed an extra Christmas gift for my son-in-law, so he was the lucky recipient. He’s a gourmet cook and the throwback recipes are a wonderful distraction when he wants some comfort food. Within 24 hours he made Caesar salad for a dinner party I attended. Then made the Mac & cheese for friends that weekend. I had to order another one for me and have made the meat loaf so far. Brings back childhood memories.

I was born in1952 and it was like walking down a sweet memory lane! I remember making a lot of these recipes and I loved learning the back stories of them all. I felt like I was reading a half novel and half recipe book. Thank you for bringing back great memories of times in the kitchen with my mom, with her showing me how to make a lot of these recipes and later in time making them for my family:) you took me back when times were so much more layed back and happier with less stress in all our lives! You are a treasure, God bless you and your family!!

The books is cool and I love the idea! I’m still trying recipes from it but the Mac and cheese is not it at all. 😂 not good. Other then that I’m happy I purchased !

I had a 50s challenge to cook and eat in the way of the 1950s for an entire month. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this amazing book! Tons of recipes that remind me of something my grandmothers and great-grandmothers would have made. I prepared everything the day before, so all I had to do when I got home from work was actually cook it. As it was cooking, I prepared the next night’s meal. The recipes were delicious and super easy to follow! I had to doctor up the sloppy joe recipe, but other than that they were all used as is! All this book is missing is the pair of heels and pearls to go with it...thankfully I had my own!

Bought this to cook and host a retro dinner party for Father’s Day. So many recipes to choose! And recipes were very simple to follow.

Bought this for my mum in the UK - she likes it and has tried the recipes but finds she has to adapt them a bit because the book is American. Nothing wrong with that, I just don't think it was clearly advertised. Decent recipe book otherwise.

Well most of the stuff I’ve never heard of. All the recipes are American and in cup measurements which is a nightmare. I’m sending it back it’s crap.

Thought this was just a curiosity but it actually turned out to be a very useful cookbook. The recipes are quite good. Not everyday cooking obviously but great for the times you want something a little different to remind you of what your mom and grandma used to put on the table.
