A fascinating non-fiction book
We have previously read and loved 'Tales of the Prehistoric World' by Katie Moore in this series so we were keen to read this (the third book in the series.)This book is a comprehensive guide to World War Two and the full colour illustrations make it the perfect introduction for young children finding out about the War. There are pages explaining the key events of the war, from Pearl Harbor and Dunkirk to D-Day and the Holocaust. Our favourite part about this book were the fascinating hidden true stories from the war. We found out about an African-American jazz singer who was working as a spy for French Resistance, Navajo soldiers who developed a secret code and a bear called Wojtek who was recruited by the Polish army. This book really puts the reader in touch with ordinary people that lived through the war and what their experiences were like.My daughter found this book fascinating. It is a brilliant book for UKS2 and really supports the learning in school. Highly recommended!

Love It!
I was looking for supplemental material for the WwIi section of our homeschool curriculum. This is a gem! My son sat down and read it. He followed so many rabbit holes learning more! Awesome book!!
