I started to follow Ellen on Instagram and I literally fall in love with her way to explain things. This book is the cherry on the cake. Thank you Ellen, you are an inspiration for me and, I'm sure, for a huge part of our colleagues too

I was required to get this for a graphic design class but I actually liked this book and it had a ton of useful information. I would look back to it in the future unlike most textbooks I never use again

I have three editions of Lupton’’s essential book and have read them all, and shared the earlier editions with people in the communications and design community. The basic advice and core design principles is the same, but in later editions she adds more examples and typefaces. This should be in the library of every graphic designer.
