Very good value 'basic' smart phone. Super camera.
Very pleased with purchase. The item is intended for parent who uses very basic smart phone capabilities. The screen is huge, allowing for easy navigation via the large icons and menu system. Camera quality is excellent, touch the screen to adjust the item into focus upon, really simply. Build quality is superb, this will easily last 2 year plus of heavy use.

A great value smart phone that does most of what an apple can do
I purchased this a second personal phone, I have an apple iPhone 6 for work. For the price this is an excellent phone, it is 5 times cheaper than the iPhone 6 so I was not expecting it to perform as well. However here is my take on the phone versus an apple:Goods / Pros1. Much cheaper2. Microsoft 8 operating system is reliable and fairly intuitive to use (even for an apple user)3. Expandable memory4. Large screen5. Adequate camera6. Pretty good battery life (+you can easily change it / carry a spare)Not so Goods (in comparison)1. Screen is not so clear or bright in daylight - although you can adjust the brightness2. Does not have the extensive apple store capability, nor the ability to link to my iTunes account (or i have not found out how yet)3. Not as intuitive as apple, but not bad -So bottom line is that Microsoft is clearly keen to get these out there so that apps get written for MS 10, hence the attractive price. If you want a very reasonably priced smart phone then this is hard to beat.

1) The camera doesn't have an option to zoom when you're taking pictures which makes it more or less useless..
CON: This phone is a complete and utter piece of s***...1) The camera doesn't have an option to zoom when you're taking pictures which makes it more or less useless...2) You can't use Google store and the Microsoft store is crap which also means that you can't connect it to Google devices -.-" ...3) There isn't an app management option so you cannot turn of or disable apps from running.4) The battery life is bad as it has to be recharged ever second day................5) It doesn't give you any notification sounds whenever you get a message on Skype or anything and there is no options for sound for that!and ugh there are way too many to list here but these are the five that piss me of the most about this phone!PRO: It kind of looks pretty decent and the sound quality for music is alright. This is my first ever Micros*** phone as I was curious to see what theyare like ugh but from now on, I'm sticking to either Samsung or Sony!i!Avoid if you want the phone or expect the phone to have what is listed above!i!I've just thrown mines out in the rubbish and have ordered that new(ish) SamsungGalaxy S6 edge!

I have no need for anything more expensive.
For the money, I cannot really fault this phone. I quite like the Windows OS, and am only worried about app functioning when I change to Windows 10 in the near future. There are a couple of niggles, for instance, I wish that a short press would bring up options on a number, rather than dialling it. A long press does this, but I feel it's the wrong way around. But easy to remember, and I do like the number blocking function.

Problems with charger
This is a good phone, easy to use and perfect for the person I bought it for. A good price too but beware buying things through Amazon that they do not directly sell themselves. After only one use the charger stopped working. I contacted the retailer direct who told me that I had to take the issue back to Amazon. I contacted Amazon who told me to contact the retailer direct!! I was offered two other options: 1. Return the phone which I didn't really want to do after spending quite a bit of time setting it up. 2. Find a charger on Amazon that they would pay for. Unfortunately this could only be an Amazon store product and there weren't any. So in the end I had to just buy another charger and pay for it. I know they don't cost much but I was pretty fed up that there was no simpler way to get the faulty one replaced. Sometimes it's just easier to go to a real shop!

Camera is much better than I've used or needed before as
Has performed well over six months with just one screen freeze, resolved by removing the battery. Works quickly (compared to my old Android 2.2 anyway) and seamlessly with Windows Cloud and files. Sometimes the touch screen is a bit over sensitive or a bit slow, but usually no problem at all. Does what I wanted which was as a phone, text, email and basic file synchronisation with One Drive. Camera is much better than I've used or needed before as well

Don't waste your time and money on this!
I would not recommend this phone.* Both I and my mother's phones broke within 1½ years. My phone randomly stopped charging, and my mother's phones broke because she accidentally dropped it into a shallow bit of water.* If you're young, like myself, and are interested in apps like Instagram and Snapchat, you will not have access to those apps though their Windows app store. They're very behind in comparison to Androids and iPhones in that aspect.* Don't be fooled by the flashy looking tiles on the home screen. The entire phone is just not very good, and is boring and laggy after a while.* There's not much more I can say about it. I've now had my Android for over 6 months, and it's much, much better. The accessibility to a large, unlimited variety of apps, the browser, the graphics, the entire design, and just little features here and there that make my phone enjoyable and efficient to use. It's not a terrible phone, it's just... a bit 'blah'. I have a Motorola G4 Play now.

Less than £100? No way!!
I do not know why this phone has any bad reviews at all. I've used it and it's not at all deserving of the one star reviews. The screen quality, while not excellent (when compared to a flagship iPhone or Samsung device) is amazing value for money. Bear in mind that this phone costs less than £100!!I took a look at the "store" and it has all the basics that you'll possibly need. Flashlight, converter, dictionary, journal etc. Honestly, if you're serious about getting a proper phone with necessary functionality, as against getting a phone to have access to the apps teenagers use (Snapchat, Inctagram and others), get this phone! You wont regret it.It has all the basics and much more, all at a very affordable price. Couldn't ask for better for the money I'm paying. Excellent value for money. Well done Microsoft.
