Tasted great...looked kind of like baby food
OK let's be honest, camp food is never really all that great but they keep getting better as time goes on. The original Readywise meals I have never been a fan of since I find them small, watery and fairly tasteless. But I was hearing good things about these new Pro line meals so I picked a few up to try and my son and I just sampled this one. It used only a cup of water which is great if you are in an area with limited water and it rehydrated well in about 5 minutes. When we opened the bag after hydrating it smelled great but looked pretty sad and it was a mushy green consistency. The cashews remained crunchy which added a great texture to the general mushy mass, but in all honesty no one tries to plate this stuff. You eat it out of the bag and this was an enjoyable flavor. But if you were expecting anything like the picture...well that isn't happening. The only thing we both thought it was missing was a little protein, so we may try adding a chicken packet to this next time to bulk it up and add some protein and calories. I would give this meal 5 stars for flavor, 4 for value and 4 for visual/texture. I think other brands are doing a better job of keeping the components separate and it looking a little more like something you could plate but this is a big step up from their lower end meals. I am now looking forward to trying the other meals we picked up.

Camping food or emergency food-long shelf life
Just add hot water and wait. Great tasting and easy to prepare. Easy to store and no refrigeration needed as these are shelf stable and have a long shelf life. Good for when one is camping or just to take as a lunch item.

Really....not good...
I enjoy camping & like taking freeze dried meals with me for their ease and variety. This was the first time I tried a Readywise product, and went with the Beef Stroganoff, as it's one of my favorite freeze dried camp meals that several companies I've tried do pretty well. This one however was a real disappointment.I prepared and stirred it according to the package directions. First, I will say I DID like the texture & flavor of the beef in the Stroganoff, but that was the only good thing, and the reason I gave it even 2 stars. The sauce had a very unpleasant curdled texture, and the noodles were in very small pieces and tasted like and had a texture like paste. It pretty much tasted like it looks in the pictures. The product was in date, the package was undamaged, so I can't blame the faults on that.I won't be buying this brand again, and am very glad I tried this before I bought one of their bucket deals to have on hand for a hurricane. I'll definitely be sticking with one of the other brands (like MH) that have good Stroganoff as well as other tasty meals.TL,DR... Pass. Try another brand.

Good very good
These are great go a tad under water requirement. And I suggest boiling the contents instead of just putting the water in the bag. as the time dose not seem to be right.

Not good
I got 3 of these for a section hike on the Appalachian Trail. They tasted gross. I usually get Peak or Mountain House freeze dried meals. I should have stuck with them, not this product.

Surprisingly tasty
The texture is a bit strange but what do you expect… it’s for convenience for camping. However it was surprisingly tasty. My husband and I shared it but we added a pouch of Uncle Ben’s Jasmine rice pouch for the microwave. So this is really just a serving for one person if you don’t add anything with it.
