Love this light. Yes, it does require four "D" batteries- but that is no problem for me. Months ago, I had ordered "D" rechargeable batteries from Amazon, and just needed to top them off. These are 10,000 mAH, and NIMH, and should last quite awhile- especially since i have the detector on motion only. When these need recharging, I can just pop in another set of four while these are recharging. Best of both worlds.This light can be installed virtually anywhere you can put a screw in. Very lightweight- the batteries weigh as much or more than the light- yet it is very stable when installed. You screw in the rear plate and then simply slide the light into to rear plate. When batteries eventually need to be replaced, just slide the light out of the rear plate, unscrew the four large plastic screws holding the batteries in and swap them out. Could not be easier.The four "D" batteries provide plenty of light and are sensitive to people and even some animals. They stay on for about 20 seconds after the motion stops. Being able to mount them anywhere is a big plus- as they are rated to be IP65 waterproof.The biggest plus, though, is the remote control. It allows you to leave the lights off, period; leave them on, period; or simply have them activate when motion is detected. Just a simple remote control button can change your settings at any time. And, if that weren't enough, the remote allows you to either dim or brighten the lights. A really wonderful feature.For a remote control light that is motion activated. waterproof and mountable virtually anywhere, the price point is excellent. Think about getting the rechargeable 10,000 mAH NIMH "D" batteries- they are the best bet in the long run- not only for eventual savings but to keep this light going for a long, long time. The batteries can be recharged something like a thousand times.Definitely a five star light.

This light is very bright and has some nice features. I have motion sensor lights around my house but there is the occasional time that you are working on something near the light and it would be nice if it stayed on so you wouldn't have to keep triggering it to come on. This has a remote so you can turn it on or off whenever you want. I guess the only negative is that you have to keep the remote in a place near the light so you can find the remote when you need it. Maybe they could make a remote button that you can mount near the light? For me, I am using the light near my garage so the time I would want to turn it on, I would be working in my garage. So I velcroid the remote inside the garage on the wall so I can easily find the remote to turn on the light when needed.The only slight negative is that this uses 4 D batteries which is not the type of battery that nowadays most people have in storage. The D batteries are probably needed to give the light a lot of power and last longer, as opposed to smaller batteries. A rechargeable 18650 battery would have been really nice but oh well. It's plastic so it won't rust and it's very bright for a battery operated outside light. It primarily works as a motion sensor light at night. When it detects motion, it turns on for about 20 seconds and then turns off. It would be nice if that was adjustable like other motion detector lights. So I'm taking a star off for that.Overall, a very nice light where you don't have AC wires or you don't get sunlight for a solar powered outdoor light. Motion sensor works well and the remote is great to turn light on and off manually.

The initial struggle was with the back battery lid. I feel the design is kind of bad and awkward. Takes couple minutes to get the back lid off so you can insert the batteries. When you get the battery in, they are pushing hard against the back lid, so you really have to hold it down to get the screw back in. So my biggest complaint is about the brightness. I was hoping to scare bad folks away, but the lights are really dim. Take a look at the photos. It's actually dimmer than what photos are showing in real life. I have seen many other houses with twice as strong light. This feels like bulb in your bathroom nightlight. Doesn't feel scary. It does appear to have good detection range, sometimes it would light up when cars drive by.

Our Toowell Battery Powered Flood Light arrived very quickly and was packaged very well. Batteries immediately went into the security light, and then we installed it on our back patio overlooking the pool. Installation is simple with all of the hardware included. Install the plate and then slide the light figure on the plate, which makes the battery changes easier. The mfr reports that batteries will last about 6 months. We’ll be changing the batteries when we change the smoke detector batteries - on time change days in Spring and Fall.We have several solar lights in the back, but none of them provide sufficient light for those late night dog walks. This security light fills that gap and is motion sensor activated. Once there is no movement for at least 20 seconds, the light turns off. The included remote makes operating this light convenient, so if we need to have the lights on all the time, there is a button for that. You can also make the lights brighter or dimmer with the remote, and you can use it to reset the light for motion sensor activation.The light is reported to be waterproof, and the seal around the battery compartment is good so I expect the light will handle rain and wind without any trouble. The body of the light is compact but sturdy and well-constructed, so I expect this light to be durable.I’m thrilled with this light because of the problem it solves.
