OMG it's great!
I really love this smart relay. I've used it for a year now to run my sprinkler pump, and it's a consistent workhorse. The app is great. It can be timed and scheduled. The only thing I've ever noticed is sometimes it will take hitting the ON button twice to get it to work, but that could just be a busy network. Overall, it's great. You'll love it. The uses are endless for people that are patient enough to set it up well.

Love this Product!
Outstanding product. Used it to turn my pool robot vacuum into wifi controlled for under $20. Can turn it on and off and set schedules from my phone. Just ordered another one to do my garage door opener.

Time to buy more for every light
Perfectly tiny, capable, and very easy to install. Ideal addition for making any switch or outlet smart or adding a digital three-way to existing light runs. These are sitting up under some basement lights and tied into motion sensors for when we forget to turn em off haha

Buy one, or 20.
I love Shellys. If you don’t have one, I really suggest you get one, or 20. And now that they’re even smaller it makes it that much easier to install them. Plus they can connect via BT, which adds to the ease. I use them with my Hubitat ecosystem, and it works wonderfully.

Garage must do - HomeKit Success!
Used this relay to automate the garage door opener so the entire family can use their phone instead of buying individual openers. Worked great! Flashed the HomeKit firmware too and all is well.

All I wanted was a better driveway light timer...
... but I got so much more.Frustrated with the normal light timers limited timing features, I turned to one of these Shelly Mini G3 smart switches. It works great and has the timing feature of an individual offset from dawn that was missing from the non-smart timer switches. The manual is bit overwhelming, and it was missing the specific "wiring plan" I needed. Searching the web I didn't easily find the answer. A deep dive into a manual for one of their other products and I found the answer. The wiring I needed was two momentary switches connected directly to the device. While it describes one, it's not clear on how to add more. It's pretty simple, put them in parallel. But this should have been easier to find.I wasn't interested in cloud support and was a little worried I would be required to use it. Again, a detail that is hard to get clarity from any manuals. It's not required or needed for local access only.Once installed, I used the AP feature (Wi-Fi directly to the device, open a web browser). This allowed me to finish the setup and configure the timers all I wanted. It's nice its exposed Web UI did everything I wanted. I continued and joined it my house Wi-Fi and have it automatically set time from the google time services. Then I could access its exposed web interface with directly connecting to the device, just my Wi-Fi; and had it automatically updated its firmware. It did come with firmware that was a version behind. Not really a requirement, but I checked out their Shelly app on my Android phone. It worked great. There are a lot of bad reviews that were recent, so I was worried. I think the complexity of rooms and how to add devices was throwing these people off, but the model clicked with me, and I thought it was very functional and stabile. So, I then ordered three smart outlets to add to the mix; and I am happy. Makes remote control and management of timers all in one UI rather than each units Web UI.There are many other features I haven't even delved into yet, like actions. If the App quits being supported, I can always go back to the fully functional Web UI on each unit.

Super nice Home Assistant devices with DC power caveats
These are super nice devices for home automation! I’m using one to switch a fan on and off on my 3D printer (bentobox). I recently bought another to send notifications of alarm activity for an older alarm system. Unfortunately, this has been a bit more troublesome to implement due to #2 below…There are a couple of caveats if you are using this with a DC power supply;1. DC power connections are the OPPOSITE of what’s on the label… so the positive lead goes to N and the negative lead goes to the L. Quite confusing tbh. I found this out watching YouTube videos lol.2. While the documentation says you can power it with 12v DC, my experience that it takes a minimum of 18v DC to get it to power up, 24v better. While not a deal breaker, in the future I will buy the gen4 version that has the 12v leads marked on the front… gen4 not available as of May 2025.The 12v power issue is a bummer as it limits my use of these for low powered electronics, guess I’ll wait for the gen4.Adding to the app is seamless and getting it working with Home Assistant was a breeze. Super happy with that functionality of the Shelly devices.

Solid Product
I gotta be honest, this product is pretty freaking awesome. I’m always skeptical about electrical products but this worked like a charm. For what it’s worth, I found this diagram super helpful. Bridging I and L.
