Thes are great little flashlights
It's a flashlight, I love these. Great for walking the door, looking for food under the sofa, doing a random spot check of the backyard at night, etc. Small, portable, and so far, reliable. Can adjust the light intensity as well. I own about 8 of them, acquired over the past few years, all in service.

Every house should have one
It's a two AA sized light, so too big for daily carry. It has three intensities and rapid flash mode. "On button" is on the very end, and a smaller button close to the light changes modes. It's not the brightest on the market, but plenty bright enough. Extremely durable build. This is perfect to have near my entertainment center; my cats keeping dropping stuff behind the component rack. Or to look under a sink, in a bin or drawer or....

Not bad, but over-hyped
I got this on prime day for $29 and still feel like I paid more than it’s worth. It’s not dim by any means, and I do like how compact and lightweight it is. But for those people out there who are saying it’s some blow-your-mind, blinding flashlight where you can see for hundreds of yards… That simply isn’t true. It’s brighter than you'd expect for a flashlight it's size and weight. I like the fact that you can recharge the battery, but I hate the fact that you need to pull the flashlight apart to do it. It might throw light 100 feet, but only completely illuminates things maybe 35 feet in front of you. As far as the area directly in your orbit, it is very bright, but drop off is swift. Full power only lasts a moment or two, before it automatically adjusts it's power. I bought this to walk my dog at night, and it does not last the entire 20 minute walk, before it switches to 50% power. At 50% power you're all of a sudden just carrying around a five dollar Walmart flashlight. Still not sure if that’s the battery dying, or the LED getting too hot. Either way, a flashlight that only lasts 20 minutes is not a very versatile flashlight. If this was $20 and you needed it to momentarily peer into dark spaces from time to time, I'd say this is a good fit for you. But if you're in situations where you need 15, 30 or 45 minutes of decent illumination, this probably is not the best option. I will say it is a good alternative to a penlight, in that it's very portable. It's not much bigger than the size of a dry-erase marker, so it's easy to toss into a backpack or cargo pocket.

Good Light, Good Customer Support
Ordered this light, used it for a while, and it worked as you'd hope for this sort of light. After a while, the batteries in the light seemed to have caused a small issue, and made it so the light no longer functioned. After reaching out to their support team, and paying a miniscule amount for shipping costs to send the old flashlight back nearly six months after the original purchase, the company sent back a brand new flashlight to replace the previous one. Their warranty is very generous in this way, and this light is well worth the money.

Versatile, compact and extremely bright
The ThruNight is as thick as a fat pencil yet projects an absolutely brilliant beam at its high setting. It's almost as bright as an LED car headlight. Fortunately it has a couple of less bright settings that are still ample for lighting your way or peering into dark corners. It's metal case makes it feel as sturdy as a MagLite.

Great customer service!
I had some trouble with this flashlight, first it would not stay on when the on button pad was pressed. Then a battery got stuck inside and could not be dislodged. I had not used it extensively or stored it in any kind of extreme conditions. I did like the size, weight, and strong light of the product (a NYT Wirecutter pick) and hoped to keep it, so I wrote to the company email (service@thrunite.com) to see if I could get a discounted new one. A response came immediately saying that a replacement would be sent. A brand new flashlight arrived in two days! The communication was helpful and swift, and the new light is great. 5 stars for prompt and helpful service! They did say that batteries should be removed if not using over an extended time. The paper insert with instructions did not mention that (maybe include this tip?) but did say that Thrunite will replace a light within two years of purchase - that's a really good warranty I think. Good product all around.

Wow. Bright. Durable. Compact. built-in charger.
being able to use regular AA batteries is awesome. The included double-long (2 AA equivalent) Lithium battery lasts a weekend camping trip with ease.

Handy little flashlight with brightness when you need it and extended AA battery life when you don't
I've owned this light for over a year now, and it has served me well through camping (in the rain) and power outages, and just the odd need for extra light. The 5 modes are nice: firefly for a little light and insane battery life, low and medium for in between, high for when you need the most light and aren't as concerned with battery life, and strobe for, well, whatever you want I guess, and it handily remembers the last mode you had selected when you turn it off and on again (except strobe; it will remember the last mode you had selected when you activated strobe). I've yet to replace the original AA batteries I installed in it.The water resistance is an excellent touch. And the included lanyard and replacement button and o-rings are appreciated. The only feature I wish it had that it doesn't is a low-battery indicator. The only concern I have with its operation is that on high, it doesn't reduce its brightness after the amount of time specified in the manual, but ThruNite customer care assure me that this is normal and a temperature sensor will lower the output if necessary, so not worth deducting a star for.If you want a versatile, water resistant, portable metal flashlight that runs on AA batteries and has good illumination and battery life, you could definitely do worse than this little guy!

Small and efficient
It is part of our survival bags (car and home), we choose for this one as it is small, solid and can be adjusted in terms of how much light you want.It has additional features which are nice also for camping trips- proper distance- kids proof (my kids dropped it a few times and still working like a charm)- different lumen pending on what you need- waterproof (again kids who dropped it by accident)
