1 Wading Staff, Collapsible Pole, 3 Pieces, Light Weight Poles, Sticks for Hiking & Trekking

Purchased this walking stick to fly fish with. I was excited that it screwed together instead of just using an elastic in the center to hold the walking stick together. The last walking/fishing staff I purchased was held together with the elastic and worked for over three years. This one with the screws didn't last a day. Waste of my money.I went on my first fishing trip and the walking stick didn't make it through the first day. The screws held up, but the other side of the junction is held by friction. The lower friction joint pulled apart and is now loose. I had to tap the stick for the second day. For a plain walking stick, it might work. If you plan to fish in rocks and sandy streams, I don't recommend this project. Save your money!Company contacted me and sent a new staff. They were very easy to work with. I will try the new staff in a few weeks and update my review. I hope it will hold together this time.

Used the staff last week did a great job. Held up to my weight and fast water with no problem. Maybe someday you could get a holster to put it on a persons belt, as the only way to carry it is in the back of my vest.Wow this is great, with stood my weight in the middle of the river ,very solid. Does need a holster or some way to put on a belt,as I carry it in the back of my vest, which is kind of hard to get to while wadeing.

Used two times, disappointing both days. Day one the basket at the bottom of the pole fell off and was lost. I assume it just go loose. Day two an approximately 8 inch piece at the bottom of the pole separated and broke off the bungee. This end piece had no screws to tighten; it just slipped into the piece above. Perhaps it was missing glue or was just poorly assembled?On the other hand, I really liked the adjustable length of the pole and the fact that the other sections screwed together

This is a great wading staff. I'm over 70 and I was very comfortable trusting it. I used it for wading mountain brook trout streams and it was excellent for both getting to different pools in the streams and getting to the streams over bad terrain. I let it hang off a cord attached to a D-ring on my wader belt and I didn't feel encumbered by it in the water. The rubber cup to put over the tip was a nice addition and good for the roads. I wish it came with a holster that I could attach to my wading belt to get it out of the way on roads but that was a small price too pay for the security I got wading and climbing in and out of the streams.

I can't understand the positive reviews for this product. I was excited when I received it, I like the light weight and stability added by the screw-in sections. My problem is that after an hour, the rubber tip was gone completely. After two hours of what I consider moderate use, two of the screw-in sections separated from the tubing, rendering the staff unstable and useless. I wrote the company and they replaced it. The replacement staff didn't fare any better. Having learned from my previous experience, I taped the rubber tip on. After about an hour, I noticed that the tip section was coming loose; so I tightened it. A little while later, it had come off completely. I was using it to fly fish, so that section is somewhere in the river now. I looked but could not find it. I understand that it's designed for easy replacement of the bungee cord; what it's not designed for is practical use in recreational activities.

The third time I used this, the plastic threaded section pulled out of the metal tube so it comes apart when using. Almost broke my neck because it kept separating when I was trying to use it. I will try to epoxy it back in the tube, but I doubt it will hold. I liked the feel and the ability to adjust the height, but because of the safety concerns, I cannot recommend this item. I should have known better.

Really like this walking staff. I plan to use this when fishing. For now it works great for holding the fan blades on our ceiling fans so my wife can clean them. Let your imagination run wild for other uses like pulling out the cat toys out from under your buffet, retrieving stuff behind chairs so that you can reach it, etc.

Unfortunately, I do not have anything positive to say about the wading staff. Within two days of its first use, the staff was unusable; the nylon cord had split near the top and the entire staff came apart. I used the staff for typical wading on the McCloud River in Northern California and the staff's malfunction created a problematic experience for my long-awaited fishing trip.If you could see to it to replace the staff and allow me to regain my faith in your product, I would certainly be appreciative.

Quality product at a fair price. Easy to assemble and very sturdy.
