Love this yarn
I recently used this incredible yarn to create a stunning crochet ruffle skirt, and I couldn't be happier with the results! The quality is exceptional, and I absolutely love how it turned out. I can’t wait to wear it! When I tried it on for sizing, it felt so comfortable—definitely no itching. Given its quality, the price is truly fantastic. The size matched the picture perfectly, and it worked beautifully for my project. I’m thrilled!

I didn't use the granny square yarn to make granny squares
I'm new to crocheting and this was only my second real project. After acquiring this yarn, I read and watched enough reviews of the granny square yarn from people who apparently know what that they're doing that I decided it was probably going to end in frustration if I tried to use it "properly." The reviews were pretty consistent about saying that there's usually a lot of frogging and re-working involved to get the colors to end exactly as they're supposed to when you're trying to use it for making granny squares. So, I just used it to make an simple double-crochet afghan. And I have to admit that I was a little disappointed to learn, as I used the yarn, that the five colors repeat in exactly the same pattern, with the same amount of each throughout. I had hoped that there'd be some variation so that if you were using it for granny squares, the resulting squares wouldn't have to be all identical. But whatever. As for using the yarn as I did for my project: I liked it. I LOVE the colors (actually had a hard time choosing which colorway to get because I think most of them are gorgeous). I found the yarn easy to handle, very little splitting (taking into account that I don't really know what I'm doing yet), makes a nice, fairly soft, stretchy stitch. I would buy it again. My understanding is that acrylic isn't super-soft and I'd say this is NOT super-soft -- probably wouldn't want to wear it as a sweater against my bare skin -- but it's actually pretty nice for an afghan.I did notice that some colors within the colorway some of the colors were consistently more or less bulky or thin than others. I have no idea how the stuff is put together, but it seemed like there were points where I could even see where one color had been attached to the other. I didn't see this as a problem -- changing colors is going to result in joins and they're not always invisible. I'm learning to crochet as a way to relax and just enjoy creating stuff, so I'm not so serious about it that an occasional imperfection in the yarn is going to ruin my project. I actually find a bit of variability and imperfection to add interest to the project.Anyway, as a beginner, I really find no fault with this yarn, for the purposes that I used it for. I very much like the afghan that I made, as does my cat -- had to pry it out from under her, in fact, in order to take the photos (please excuse the cat hair). I doubt that if I do get into making granny squares that I would purchase this yarn for that purpose. I think I'd rather have the control of making a variety of variations on a given color theme, rather than a whole bunch of absolutely identical squares. But I would purchase this yarn again (as well as other "styles" of Red Heart's product line) with no reservations.

Red Heart has a winner on their hands....
I love this yarn - the color is a perfect neutral. I have used Red Heart yarn since I started crocheting over 50 years ago.Red Heart has improved the quality and color selection over the years. This a #4 worsted weight acrylic yarn - perfect for afghans. I'm currently using this shade with the solid Aran color to make a bedspread. The only complaint I have is that there seems to be a difference in the texture from one color change to another. The Aran and tan shades are smooth and soft to the touch; however, the darkest, brown shade feels coarser in texture. It doesn't prohibit use of the yarn; it just feels different.

Neat gimmick
I ordered this yarn because I had heard that it's frustrating to use lol. Here's my experience: personally I can see where people get hung up. The first square I used the recommended hook size and this just confirmed that my tension is a bit tight so I was constantly having to rework a color section and really concentrate on loosening up. The second square I decided to go up a hook size. This square was easy peasy! I didn't have to concentrate on tension at all and the square flew off my hook! So I started another square thinking it was easy street from here on out. Wrong! The next square with the bigger hook was the same result as using the recommended. I kept having so much left over and then on the last row kept running out of the white a few stitches before the end of the square. So yes, even as someone that has been crocheting for over a decade, I too had struggles.I will say, the yarn itself is nice, the colors are bright with very little bleed over or speckling. It's on the softer side for Red Heart so I would totally use this for wearables. The price though is just a bit steep. I would only recommend this for people that are up for the challenge and have a lot of patience for problem solving.

Fastest way to make granny squares!
I purchased the three pack of the Black-Dove color way. I love the how neutral and natural the color way is. These granny squares work up very quickly once you have the hang of it. I used a Susan bates inline hook in size I9 or 5.50 mm. The best tutorial for learning how to use this yarn is from “The Crochet Crowd” I was able to learn quickly and easily as the pattern required for these is different than how I normally make granny squares. The finished square is about 6in across before blocking. (If you are a tight crocheter like myself you will have to use a larger size hook than recommended or loosen up your stitches) overall I am very happy with this yarn. I would love to get the cyber color way in the future

Great Price
The yarn was absolutely perfect. I was in the middle of a project and realized I needed more, but when I went back to the store—nothing. The color was completely gone. I checked two other locations and spent over a week searching online. Finally, I came across it on a yarn website, but the price was ridiculously high. Still, I was grateful because I finally had the name of the color! I searched it on Amazon and—bam! Found it. And even better—I got three skeins for the price of two.The only downside was the delivery. It came in a clear plastic bag, which was fine, but the driver left it right on the ground in front of the door. It would’ve been nice if they had placed it on the stool that’s literally right there
