Anchor Hocking1.5 Gallon Montana Glass Jar with Lid (2 piece, brushed metal, dishwasher safe)

I have been looking for an upgrade for storing my flour for some time (my old glass jar had a rather narrow neck that didn't fit a measuring cup). Out of all the options I looked at, this ended up being the best by far for the following reasons:1. Glass is a better storage material than plastic (healthier and more durable).2. The jar is very attractive. It looks classy in my cabinet.3. Closing and opening the jar is easy with the large peg on the top (many jars have a flat-top design that needs to be gripped firmly with a whole hand, which is hard when your hands might be covered in various baking supplies).4. The 1.5 gallon jar is a great size for a 5-lb bag of flour. There is some room to spare, but given that I buy new flour before I've totally run out of the previous bag, it will be nice to have some extra space.5. The mouth of the jar is very wide and comfortably fits a full-size measuring cup.As a big bonus, the jar is American-made, and a terrific value for the money. Many stores sell flour jars that are way less practical than this, made in China, for $20-50.

I was so excited to find a made in the USA stylish jar to go in my kitchen. I bought several sizes and it gave my kitchen a nice upgrade. Love these jars and they’re so affordable.

This jar is great! It's everything the review said it was.It is quite large, much larger than the picture leads you to believe!This is a 1.5 gallon jar, and it holds every bit of that!I have only had this jar for a few weeks, and use it several times a day.So far, everything is still in great shape.The glass is flawless. The lid is stainless steal, it does attract finger prints.The handle on the lid is not the most helpful, as I find myself grabbing the lid on both sides and wiggling & lifting to get it off.The seal does work great!I needed this jar to keep my dog's treat & bones fresh.It was also very important that we get a treat jar that cleans completely; no room for bacterial growth like the plastic container again.I would recommend over & over again a glass jar over plastic for any food & edible storage, for humans or pets.

I looked EVERYWHERE for the perfect container to hold marshmallows for the smore bar at my destination wedding this October. I wanted something functional that also looked nicely displayed. Everything was so expensive for poor quality and didn't have as much storage capacity as I wanted until we found this gorgeous glass jar with lid. It was the perfect price, so much cheaper than other cheap plastic jars I found, and it looked so pretty!! I later was so happy that I chose to go with a glass jar because the wind was pretty high for a little while in the beginning. This jar is such a nice size and fit a lot of mallows. I have been slowly replacing all of my plastic storage containers and jars with glass over time and I got this size to use for tortilla chips and other similar crispy snacks. This one is the perfect size for a large 22 0z bag of chips with room to spare, The lid keeps air out very well and the contents stays fresh of a week or longer. It is a bit heavier and larger than some other models, but I consider that a good thing because it stays in place and the contents of the jar is easy to see. Might not be the best choice for someone with joint problems, but works just fine for me. Cleans easily with just dish soap and hot water, but care should be taken when cleaning because the size and shape makes handling when wet a bit of a challenge.

The glass jar is nice, the lid fits nicely. The handle for the lid does need to be tightened every once in a while as it tends to come loose with use. The metal portion of the lid is thin and feels rather cheap, but the product is functional overall.

Very sturdy and attractive glass container for the price. Mine arrived with no damage and is working great for storage purposes with the seal on lid still working well after repeated use.If storing flour, many people don’t realize that flour products can come already containing the weevil eggs, so it’s helpful to store flour in the refrigerator or freezer if it won’t be used up in a few months. Or storing the flour in the freezer initially for a time can help to kill any eggs already in the flour before storing at room temperature.I also saw a review where the welding on the knob broke. If this eventually happens to mine I plan to either contact Anchor Hocking or just replace with a stainless steel cabinet/drawer or pot lid knob.All in all, I’m very pleased with my purchase.

I own several of these jars and love them. Ivan pour an entire bag of flour, sugar, or powdered sugar in each jar. This saves a lot of mess because I don’t have to roll the unused bags and place in storage. Instead, everything goes into the jar and the secure airtight lid keeps the contents fresh. When I’m baking, I love that I can reach the measuring cup into the jar easily and I don’t have to attempt awkward angles. I recommend these jars- they serve so many purposes.

This jar by Anchor Hocking is large and solid and just right for flour storage.
