Great companion for creative travels
I have purchased many of these travel boxes looking for the perfect one. I found it here. This has everything I was looking for. I've taken it on a trip to Mexico, I use it on my lunch breaks and everywhere around town. I haven't tried it with a tripod. I use it mainly on my lap or with a table when available. It's well constructed and looks amazing. I've learned Instead of the clip I keep a few small magnets in the brush tray to adhere my paper to back. If you're doing a larger piece, lay flat and use the lid as a pallet. It is a little on the heavy side being Walnut. Overall I definitely recommend.

Classy and compact.
Overall, this is a great kit and just what I wanted. I use it on my old 35mm camera tripod when I am in the field and on a tabletop when I just want to work or play. I wanted small and sturdy with flexibility. The size of a small laptop or tablet, I repurposed an old case as my studio on the road to carry the pochade and any peripherals like extra paper, towels, and other toys.My only suggested change might be to skip the brush holes. Make the space be a 'trench' for 3 watercolor blanks for value/dirty water use.

Great except for one design flaw
First, cute as a button, this is the most portable palette in my collection. Combine it with a water brush and small sketchbook and I can paint anywhere. I did tung oil seal the paint wells to make cleanup even easier but it wasn't hard to clean before. You can even wash it with soapy water, just rinse well and allow to air dry completely. Now for the flaw: the clip is not attached in any way when folded for storage. A small clip that could remain attached when folded would be better.

Not disappointed.
For the price this is a work of art. Very study and superbly constructed. This is such an upgrade to my field kit; just what I need when I'm wanting to travel light.

I’m happy I decided to buy this!!!
I am in love with this new pochade box. I modified it a bit by putting a magnetic sheet on the white side of the box. Now I don’t have to use the clamp it came with and I will just use heavy duty magnets to hold my paper in place. I will be using the bulldog clip only if I paint on my sketchbook but I mostly paint on single sheets of paper anyway. Still contemplating if I will put gouache or watercolor paints in the wells though as the pans are stuck in there really well. I didn’t even need the glue dots it’s came with. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great little setup
I really like this small but highly useable little portable studio. I love color and there us plenty of room for a large palette. The mixing space could be larger but I can bring an extra small mixing palette and a larger water container to wash my brushes.the brush compartment isn’t large but my travel brushes fit in a small pouch.Throw them altogether in a bag with a durable tripod and a pad of arched paper . You are all ready for a great day of plein air painting.

Terrible design... but it is cute, in case that matters.
This very attractive toy is unusable as it is. If used on a flat surface, it will tip over -- The easel section is far too heavy to be supported by the palette section... unless you lay it completely flat. If you want to use it on tripod, you will need to drill a new hole to reposition the mounting adapter -- the position as it is, could not be in a worse if you want your workspace to stay upright.Unfortunately, I was out of town, and missed the deadline for returns by 1 day. I sincerely hope to be granted an extension on the return policy... OR to be offered a useable replacement, in which case, I will happily re-review!
