These were soft and fresh.They tasted good

This was a brand new experience for me. I dehydrate my own apples, but I'm always up for trying new things, and I've never had dried apples that weren't sliced. These apples are only halved, and they are very soft and spongy, not chewy or crunchy like most dried apples I've had (or made). It is different for sure, but I'm not hating them, and worst case scenario I'll incorporate them into other foods. I would say the closest comparison to the texture would be baked apples, but peeled, cold, and with a disappointing absence of butter, sugar, and cinnamon lol. I have had several at this point with no problems, and my dog approves of them as well. I appreciate that there are several smaller packages that are vacuum sealed so that I can take my time with them. I don't know if it's necessary, but I'm storing the opened package in the fridge. I personally do not have any reasons to recommend against this product.

I can see these being great in oatmeal or even baked goods, but honestly, they’re just as enjoyable straight out of the bag. These dried apples offer a different experience from the typical dried fruit, and I’m definitely hooked.

I thought these were just dried apples. They have Sulfur Dioxide. I'm allergic to sulfur - I've had plenty of other dried fruit with out this and was surprised to see it on the ingredient list.

My August 2024 order of ‘SMIMEX Dried Apples 16 oz. (five 3.25 oz. packs)’ arrived as five vacuum sealed packages each containing three full apples (each in two halves) which have been soft dried. Most of the halves measure between 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. The outer plastic bag states ‘Product of Armenia’ and has a Best By Date of March 26 2025. The Ingredient list is simple: dried apples, sulfur dioxide (preservative). There is a warning on the bag that there may be pit fragments present, and after opening the apples must be refrigerated.Most of the dried apples I’ve tried in the past have been similar in texture to jerky or even crisper than that. These soft dried apples are different; they have a chewy (almost rubbery) texture similar to gummies. In fact, I had a hard time biting these apples — I found it easier to cut the apples into small pieces with a knife first. Once you get past the texture, the taste is actually good. You can tell there is no added sugar, which is a good thing. I don’t think I enjoyed the texture that much — I think I’d prefer to simply eat actual apples. As far as the (unquantified) sulfur dioxide content, the USDA says people with some health issues such as asthma should avoid sulfur dioxide.

The first time I tried these I didn't like them. There just seemed like something was strange about them. These aren't like any other dried fruit I ever tried. Now I have fallen in love with them. They are still strange but in a good way. They are a kind of chewy marshmallowy appley goodness. They are the kind of chewy that makes you know you are actually EATING something and they are sweet but not too sweet and a tiny bit of tartness is there. It's nice to have a healthy snack that is as satisfying as these.

I ant find these in the store so I was happy to find them on Amazon but they are very hard to chew so I went with a different brand on eBay.

These are so good. They have the right combination of sweetness and tartness and taste fresh. The apples are halved instead of sliced, and the texture is soft and chewy. I’m glad they do not have added sugar. They are divided into 6 vacuum-sealed pouches, each with 5-6 servings. The first time I tried them, I ate 4 pieces because they taste so delicious, and it filled me up. I have to remember that 2 pieces equals a whole apple.
