Great Value Cast Iron for Bread Lovers
I’ve been loving this affordable Northriver 2-in-1 cast iron bread pan set! As a fan of baking sourdough, I’ve found it versatile and perfect for my needs. Here’s why I’d recommend it:Double Duty Baking: Although it’s designed as a covered pan for a single loaf, I use the base and lid separately to bake two loaves at once. This lets me make double the bread in one go, which has been a game changer!Solid Cast Iron Quality: It has the heft and durability you expect from cast iron, and it retains heat beautifully. This gives my loaves a consistent rise and a gorgeous crust.Even Heat Distribution: Whether I’m baking sourdough or a quick bread, the heat distribution has been excellent. Each loaf comes out evenly browned, and I haven’t experienced any issues with hot spots.Affordable for Cast Iron: For the price, this set is a steal! Comparable cast iron pieces can cost much more, so I feel like I got a high-quality deal.Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a versatile and affordable cast iron baking set, this one’s a great choice. It works well for bread, but I imagine it would also be great for meatloaf or even as a roasting pan.

Great value
Ordered to bake sourdough sandwich bread. Very sturdy, fits together well, and capable of taking the heat. I like that it can be two pans, or one pan with a lid. Greased them with cooking spray and bread slid right out. Very happy with what I got for the cost.

Great for sourdough bread
I bought these for sourdough bread. They work great, cover the bead when you put it in the oven. Then remove the lid 15 minutes before done, a perfect loaf falls right out of the pan. Clean up is easy when you season them first, and a light coat of cooking oil will prevent rust. They feel to be good quality, with some wieght to them. Stacking one inside the other makes for easy storage. And when make bread without a cover you have four bread pans. These are good pans at a resionable price. I would buy them again if needed.

Makes Sandwich Bread Shaped Sourdough. Covered baker or 2 loaf pans.
I make my round sourdough boules in a Lodge Dutch oven but hubby prefers a square slice for his sandwiches. I almost paid double and purchased an enamel covered cast iron oval baker with lid and then saw this set. It is dual duty…you get a baker with lid or two loaf pans. I baked with the lid on for the sourdough loaves in my pictures but when I’m making a yeast bread (like Amish sweet bread) I make two loaves uncovered at a time. Came seasoned but I wiped it out and added more vegetable oil. Cleanup is easy. Just brush off any flour or bread crumbs. The handles are slightly curved which allows a comfortable and secure grip when lifting. Love these pans! Outstanding quality, performance and value!

Very well made
Really nice cast iron. Switching all my stuff over from non-stick to cast and stainless steel. I love to bake bread and banana bread etc. and these work really well. They come seasoned but I add a little butter before I bake and they never stick. I thought they would overcook my banana bread but they don't and you can even let the bread cool in the pan without worrying about the crust getting too dark. You can put one side on the other like a cover if you want to do sourdough or other artisan breads, they fit together well for that purpose. One side is slightly smaller than the other so they stack together nicely for storage.

Great for baking bread
This bread pan with lid works great for sour dough bread with its cover on for part of the baking time. The lid fits perfectly and the handles on each part are curved away from each other, so the lid can be easily removed - smart. Of course, this also works as two loaf pans if you don't need the cover. Again, the curved handles make this easy to handle when hot. The interior of the pan is not smooth, but slightly textured, which is fine. Easy clean-up with water, avoiding soap to maintain seasoning. Recommended.

Have been using it a few times a week and it works great! Not the easiest to clean but well worth it! Good weight, good design. Likely going to buy another one soon.
