Great Finishing Product
I bought these as a finishing touch after installing a stair runner on my steps. Overall, they were very easy to install. I had to use a hacksaw to trim the length of the rods to match the width of my carpet, but that was expected. My only complaint is that the screws that came with them for installation seem to be made cheaply - I twisted the heads off a few simply tightening them down. (This was after I predrilled the holes.) I would recommend these if you are looking for an extra touch of class for your steps.

Do not waste your time
I purchased 16 of these, most of which all were defective. I strongly suggest using a different product or vendor. The fit tolerance was huge meaning that the mounts had an interference fit between the body and clasp so that the clasp would not mate to the body. Fortunately I have a machine shop with a large grinding tool that is used to reshape the parts so that they would fit. $300+ for cheaply stamped brass with an interference fit is a total RIP off. No quality control or oversight of this product by the retailer and certainly none by the manufacturer you can see the interference fit in the enclosed image

Did not receive the parts ordered
The box arrived with only 1 rod, not 13, and no attachment hardware. In addition I ordered one part separately and it too arrived with no attachment hardware. I would stay well away from this one. I was looking to save some money, I suppose you get what you pay for.
