Yes, easy to use and has big buttons, but....
I got this phone for my mother, who is very hard of hearing and often answers the phone without her hearing aid in place. Two things that I think make this phone less than ideal.1. The lack of a speakerphone function means that the handset needs to be at the ear. The volume is fine for this use, but for those occasions where the hearing aid is in place it is not as easy to use. In addition, there are often times that I want to be on the phone with mom so that I can help her with someone else on the line. And even when she is alone, it might be more comfortable and effective to use a speakerphone with nice loud volume so that both ears can be used to hear.2. It would be much easier overall if the handset was cordless. Being corded means that the user is teathered to the phone, and the base unit is pretty lightweight and easily pulled off the counter. The price for this phone is quite reasonable and it functions well, but for elderly and hearing impaired I think that it is worth paying just slightly more for a phone with a cordless handset and with a speakerphone.

nice big buttons and works when the power is out
we live in an area that does not have cell service unless you use WI-FI which goes out when we loose power. so I was looking for an "old fashion" land line phone that didn't require power to use. I ordered this phone to see if it would work, and was pleased that it works with out the need of power other than what comes over the phone line. This phone is a nice looking phone with nice large buttons for those of us who have problems seeing. it has volume adjustments for both the hand set and the ringer again good for those of us who are hard of hearing. it has two memory buttons that can be programed for any number you want and one "SOS" button for 911. I don't know if you can reprogram that button for some other emergency number or not or if you can deactivate it so you don't hit and call 911 by mistake or not I'm thinking you can but haven't tried yet because I don't want to call 911 while trying to deactivate it. over all this is a great little phone that will work when the power is out as long as your phone line is up and working. It is just what I needed and deserving of a 5 star rating

Great basic phone for the elderly
Having a mother who is partially blind this phone is perfect. The numbers are big and unlike some others on the market these numbers are bold. There is very minimal buttons making it simple and easy to use. The handset is comfortable and the volume can be increased for those alittle hard of hearing. The ringer does have 2 setting for high or low and the red light will flash when a call is coming in. The call quality is just as good as any other landline phone. There are 3 programmable buttons on the very top, one designated for emergency in the middle, so a quick and easy push of the button will automatically call any number. Overall for the basic functions, big bold numbers and price this phone is perfect for those with hearing and seeing problems.

Great Option for Seniors with Shaky Hands
I got this phone for a parent with Parkinson's disease. The big numbers make it much easier to dial with shaking hands. I like that the number pad is separate from the phone as well. It is very lightweight like many phones you buy online, but I feel this makes it feel kind of cheap. I wish the base was a little weighted so it doesn't get easily pulled by the cord or slide around while my parent is using the phone. Other than that, it's working out great.

Very user-friendly
This is the first landline I've since like 2003. My kids are 7 and 4 and I want them to be able to dial 911 if there is an emergency. They don't have cell phones and ours are password protected, so we got this landline. The buttons are beautifully ginormous, which is useful both for those with vision challenges and for kids (or anyone) whose fingers lack dexterity. 911 comes automatically programmed into the easily identified "SOS" button, and you have the option of programming in two other emergency numbers. Yes, it's attached to the wall, but cmon, how often are you really using your landline? This is a great choice for anyone who wants an old school phone.
