Saved my daughters Homecoming!
I bought this portable charger/Car jump starter a year ago and never had the chance to test its car-jumping abilities until today. I've had the charger sitting in my car since the day I bought it, and today, it finally came in handy when we needed it most. Today is my daughter's homecoming dance, so we were up early for volleyball practice, then off to run some last-minute errands, mani-pedi, shoe shopping, eyebrows... all the girly things, lol. Well, after an early volleyball practice, we got in the car ready to leave, and sure enough, the dreaded clicking and dashboard lights flashing and then NOTHING! Car didn't start. I tried to start the car again, and nothing! I almost forgot I even had the charger in the car because I've never had to use it. I was a little skeptical at first, thinking, just my luck, it probably won't even work. But sure enough, it was SO EASY and self-explanatory to use. You hook up the jumper cables to the battery, press the jump start button on the charger, the green light blinks a couple times testing the battery I think, then when it turns into a solid green light, you just start your car and it STARTED RIGHT AWAY!! WITHOUT ANY HESITATION!!It really saved the day because trying to find someone to jump the car or waiting for AAA would have taken forever, making us miss appointments and putting all the errands on hold.Because we were on a time limit, I didn't have time to buy a battery, so we hurried to her nail appointment, and as we were leaving, sure enough, the car didn't start, and BAM! Jump starter came in handy and started my car AGAIN! Lets just say that continued on for a few stops, and each time the jump starter started my car without a problem! After all the errands were done I was finally able to drop my daughter off at home and go to AutoZone to get a new battery, but I am SOOOO glad I made this purchase because this jump starter came through when I really needed. I was really impressed! Not only that it worked, but I was able to get multiple jumps out of it, allowing us to get everything done that we needed to, without adding more problems and chaos to an already busy day.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this just for the jump starter alone because you never know when your car isn't going to start and not have access to another vehicle to jump-start your car. With that said, my only complaint is that the charger itself is not very impressive. When charging anything, the battery does tend to get hot, and it does drain pretty quickly, even for something as simple as charging a cell phone. I've also used it to charge my laptop using the three-prong connection, and I got about an hour or 2 of charging then the charger died. So that part kind of sucks. It would be nice to get a longer charge out of it and not have the battery get hot.BUT, with all that said, I would still get it again without question for the simple fact that even though it may not be the best charger, it will definitely come through and works like a champ in an emergency situation. You don't have to worry about staying stranded, and that alone deserves 5 stars :)

I got a bummed one, but I'm still VERY impressed
[update 7/11/21: 18 months later, this thing has saved my butt half a dozen times with multiple vehicles... most recently when my electric car was bricked because its 12V which drives the computer had died. Even after multiple uses, the unit has yet to have to be charged again. To be fair, it actually doesn't take that much power to jump a car, it just needs a high voltage. However, I'm upgrading to 5 stars because of how useful it has been, and I would DEFINITELY recommend people buying one as a backup, especially if you have old car.][update 12/31/20: 1 year later, my truck battery died, and we tried for 30 minutes but my roommate's car didn't have enough power to jump me. I didn't feel good asking a neighbor to come jump me in the middle of the pandemic, but I remembered this thing in the back of the closet in the "old junky electronics" bin. I pulled it out and was surprised it still shows a charge. I didn't expect it to work, but I crossed my fingers and tried it. To my great surprise, it worked... and worked more than once. Therefore, I'm upgrading my initial rating of 2 to 4, and might be willing to give another unit another try in the future when I need portable power.][original review]I bought it for a trip overseas because I wasn't sure what my access to power supplies was going to be.The pros first: the unit is beautiful and sleek and have lots of ports for lots of different uses. It's easy to use, and if it worked as designed, should hold lots of power. The cons: not sure if I just got a bummed one, but it doesn't provide even remotely close to the advertised battery life. It's supposed to have 7.9 hours of battery life for a 13.3” Macbook Pro - I have a Macbook Air, which uses less power, but I was getting about an hour or so of battery life out of it. It was only able to charge my pixel three times before the power was drained. The charger cable doesn't make good contact, so I have to hold it against the unit for it to charge. I rigged it with rubber bands to keep the contact tight, but that's terrible for something so expensive. On top of that, it's heavy... not super great for traveling. :-(May be I just got unlucky given all the other good reviews, but I got a refund and refused a replacement. Although I have to plug their customer service... it was fantastic. No hassle. Not 100% sure I would recommend the unit given my personal experience, but I suspect if you got a good one, it's worth it.

Essential camping must-have
I didn’t know I needed a Halo charger until we took my husband’s camping with us last year. So I bought my own, and of course, had to get it in pink. I was able to charge 2 phones to over 90%, a watch up to 85% and a Bluetooth speaker at 75% as we used it while charging. I threw my phone on there a second time during our trip, but it didn’t charge much due to the Halo’s own battery needing charged. I give this product 4 stars, because unlike my husband’s Halo, this device only lasted about two days before I had to charge it again, whereas my husband’s Halo lasted a whole week without any charging. If you’re going on a weekend trip, this Halo would be perfect. If you were gone any longer, you would need to charge it. It does come with a car charger, along with an AC charger. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase, however, I may still buy the model my husband has, a black one, which was bigger than my Halo.
