This set of chafing dishes was brought as a birthday gift. I heard that she was very happy with the dishes - which she will be using for Christmas.

I was sent 1pc to review but there are 2 or even 6 piece options, so be careful what you order.The chafer didn't include any instructions in the box but it's the same setup process as described on the listing and can find good videos on YouTube if still unsure.No fuel was included with the set and if planning to use a lot, suggest buying from catering suppliers as they sell larger capacity canisters.Compared to commercial catering kit I have used, manufacturing seems good quality and as good or better. I can't comment on the longevity or quality of the stainless steel but it does look well manufactured.At £50 it's good value for money for occasional use, perfect for large family events such as BBQs

The media could not be loaded. A very useful and well-made addition to your kitchen equipment. Not everyone will need something like this, but if you’ve ever cooked a meal for a large party then you know how hard it is to keep everything warm. This chafing dish helps enormously with that problem, and it looks very stylish as well.It’s a solidly made stainless steel product and from my perspective seems no different to the catering industry ones you may use at a buffet. I’ve added several pictures and a video to show how it fits together. I forgot to show how the lid sits into a couple of slots once you remove it: that means you don’t have to set it aside and find space to put it. If you look at the pictures and the video, you can see the slots on the frame in which the dish sits. It comes with all the dishes nestled inside each other, and all you have to do is attach the handle using the enclosed nuts and bolts.You have to source the ethanol fuel separately but it’s not expensive if you shop around, especially if you buy in bulk. Being ethanol it’s clean burning so you won’t be scrubbing the bottom of the dish as there’s no soot to speak of.Once you’ve finished with it, and it’s cooled down, you just need to wash it as you would with any cooking equipment. It’s straightforward to store as the stand folds flat and sits around the large outer dish. There is a complication at this point as the metal tray for the burners screws onto the feet of the support frame, so to fold it up you’d have to undo the nuts and bolts every time: in addition, whilst it comes with all the dishes nestled inside each other, once you put the handle on the lid you can’t store them like that unless you want to take the handle off again. It’s not a major issue, but it does mean that unless you take the handle off you can’t store in the box that it comes in. I just salvaged the outer Amazon box to store mine.Overall, I think it’s a quality piece of equipment and will save you a lot of hassle next time you’re cooking for more than a few people. Given its size and capacity it’s not something you’d use every day unless you were a caterer or have a very large family, but for the times when you’re hosting quite a lot of guests it’s a must have item.Given the glowing opinion above you may wonder why I’ve only given it four stars. Firstly the one I received came with no instructions whatsoever. The box was plain cardboard with no branding at all, and no pictures on how to set it up or use it. The pictures on the listing on Amazon are comprehensive but I don’t think that’s adequate for something you’re expected to pay over £50 for.My wife went to catering college so she knows how to use equipment like this, but as a novice I think it would have been helpful to have a leaflet at the very least. She also pointed out another potential issue for someone who wasn’t fully up on these matters: until she explained it I didn’t know the difference between a chafing dish and a bain-marie. In fact I’d assumed the two were interchangeable. This isn’t the case, with the main difference being that a chafing dish is for keeping food warm and a bain-marie is also used for cooking. Now that mistake was down to my own ignorance, and if you’re looking for a chafing dish then presumably you know what it’s for. In my case however I didn’t know and a simple leaflet would have set me straight.The other reason for only four stars is that the one I received came with too few nuts and bolts. There are for holes pre-drilled to hold the burner tray onto the frame, and I got one nut and one bolt. This led me to suspect that the product I received had been re-boxed after being either shipped in bulk or returned by a previous customer. Around some of the seams on the lid and the dishes there was the residue of the blue polythene that manufacturers use to cover scratchable products in transit.None of the above make the product unusable but it lowers my general confidence in the product. I would recommend it to anyone who needs such an item, and I’m happy to give it four stars. If it was better presented then it would be five stars.

Very good quality

Quality standard not good, lot of stains mark on the container specially food servers, which does not go, which tells the quality of the material is not good.I wanted to return the package back, but due to the very urgent requirement of the product I was forced to keep and use it time being, but the stains are clearly visible on the product.Not very happy.

I was worried about the lack of reviews bit these are amazing. They are beautiful and work well. SO HAPPY!

Die Behälter sind von schlechter Materialqualität. Bereits nach der ersten Nutzung gibt es Schadstellen in den Speisenbehältern, wo sich scheinbar eine Beschichtung ablöst. Bei Edelstahlbehältern sollte sich da nichts ablösen, weil die normalerweise nicht beschichtet werden. Also entweder ist es kein Edelstahl oder es ist ein merkwürdiger Materialfehler. Angelöste Beschichtung würde die Verwendung für Lebensmittel ausschließen. Wer möchte schon gerne Lackstücken im Essen haben...*Edit*Nach freundlichem Kontakt hat mir der Händler kostenfrei sechs neue "Chafing Dishes" zugesendet. Bei diesen sind auch nach mittlerweile mehrfacher Verwendung keine ungewöhnlichen Abnutzungserscheinungen oder Materialfehler erkennbar.Die beschädigten Behälter musste ich nicht zurücksenden.

Das Set kommt in Einzelteilen an, pro Warmhaltebehälter müssen insgesamt vier Schrauben montiert werden, dann ist man einsatzbereit. Ich glaube es lag keine Anleitung dabei, die Montage ist allerdings einigermaßen selbsterklärend, man kann ja auch noch Artikelbilder zur Hilfe nehmen.Jedes Teil wird in einer großen Tüte geliefert, das ist bei Produkten aus Edelstahl leider inzwischen relativ normal. Die größeren Tüten nutze ich nun als Müllbeutel, so hatten sie zumindest noch einen Einsatzzweck, bevor sie entsorgt werden.An einigen Teilen war auch noch Schutzfolie, die allerdings eingestanzt war und deswegen nicht mehr so leicht herauszubekommen war. Glücklicherweise war die zumindest in meinem Fall nur an Stellen, an denen sie keinen Kontakt zu Lebensmitteln hat. Allerdings ist es trotzdem recht nervig und fummelig, die herauszubekommen.Die Wasserbehälter hatten in meinem Fall auch einige größere Macken, die Funktion wird dadurch natürlich nicht beinträchtigt und für Gäste ist es auch nicht sichtbar, weil die Speisebehälter diese verdecken, mir würde es aber trotzdem ohne Macken besser gefallen.Für Leute wie mich, die viele Hobbys, aber zu wenig Platz haben, ist recht praktisch, dass die Warmhaltebehälter zusammengeklappt gelagert werden können. Wie schon geschrieben muss man nur vier Schrauben befestigen (zwei pro Griff und zwei für den Rahmen) und schon ist man wieder einsatzbereit. Zwei Behälter benötigen zerlegt etwa so viel Platz wie ein aufgebauter Behälter.Die 1/2 Behälter sind gerade für private Köche ohne Industrieküche sehr praktisch, da die auch in normale Backöfen passen, so kann man Gratins oder Aufläufe direkt in den Behältern machen. Die großen Behälter finde ich z. B: für Currywurst besonders praktisch. Schnell einige Würstchen gegrillt und schon kann man die über mehrere Stunden in einer Currysauce warmhalten und nach Bedarf auch noch nachgrillen.Brennpaste war leider keine dabei, die bekommt man in größeren Mengen aber auch schon für unter 2 Euro das Stück.Die Funktion der Behälter ist auch gegeben und die großen glatten Oberflächen lassen sich leicht reinigen.Der Preis liegt aktuell bei 115 Euro, für das von mir getestete Set, das wirkt im ersten Moment recht teuer, ist bei diesen Warmhaltebehältern allerdings recht normal. Es wäre dann nur noch wünschenswert, dass die Qualitätsprobleme in Zukunft beseitigt werden und ein Bundle mit preiswerter Brennpaste wäre auch nicht schlecht.
