Given as a birthday gift for 7 yo... She LOVED it! We read through the booklet about the animal and all of the different organs while she dissected. She's been telling everyone who will listen about all the inside parts of rattlesnakes! The "meal" inside the stomach was a fun surprise and guessing which type of prey it was! This kit took an hour to do and was fairly messy... We put a garbage bag down on the table underneath to catch the mess. The tray keeps all of the parts in place but the gel will overflow once they get started so I recommend covering the workspace underneath. Lots of fun... Wish they had more large specimens to dissect! What a fun, educational project? Highly recommend 👍

4 and 5 year old loved dissecting and learning all about bat anatomy.They are outdoors type girl and boy who lovd science and catching and releasing critters.Great rainy day activity.

I have been told this is a popular toy for 5/6 year old boys - probably for older ages and girls too! We buy this or another variation for birthday party gifts. Great price point too!

While I found it a little strange my grandsons loved it. Giggles could be heard the entire time they performed the "dissection".

Our son absolutely loved this and cant wait to redo it again.

Really fun for my four year old, even comes with a second pack of mix to do it again! Easy to assemble and take apart.

As part of Summer learning, I purchased real dissection animals for the older children, but did not want the youngest, age 9, working with a real scalpel. I purchased one each of these kits for her to use so she would not feel left out. It was the perfect solution. She worked on the frog yesterday and followed along in the brightly colored pamphlet, as the older children followed their dissection instructions. There were enough opportunities for learning, such as “Do not dig or scrape with the scalpel,” so she could learn how to use the instruments and feel like she was part of the group. She liked this so much it sparked a real interest in biology, and science in general, The only down side I can see is the animal is made from thick gel and one of the legs came off while she was working on it. It’s most likely she leaned too hard on that side, or handled it wrong, so I’ll need to pay closer attention when she works on the other animals. A plus is there are two more packets of gel for the mold, so if there are multiple small children they can each get a turn dissecting a specific animal, too. I would purchase the item again without any reservation..
