Teaching my toddler a thing about chemistry
What a good parent I am when I show my toddler how to make brass with 3 MOL sodium hydroxide and zinc. She was totally amazed by the silver to gold transition and terrified of the NAOH.

Heavily Oxidized -Will Not Melt
The product was received in a timely fashion. My complaint is that it is advertised as zinc metal with the note that it is good for chemistry experiments, but with the unfortunate omission is that it is oxidized to a point that it will not melt. Guess I should have anticipated this, but there is only so much time to research an item that costs less than $20, before buying; so, my bad, but they could have shown a little initiative. That is the mark of a good tradesman.

Good clean zinc!
Good clean Zinc metal, correct mesh size and weighed out to 100g perfectly. I only needed a few grams for my experiment so I ended up with plenty left over for future chemistry fun!
