Excellent value. Solid construction. Wire it right!
Pump has been running perfectly for over 2 years. Feeding 3 houses, 260 feet deep, with NO check valve at the pump (just one at the top). The construction is excellent. After reading some negative reviews when I purchased it, I invested in some additional quality electrical supplies and took my time to make sure every connection was solid and absolutely sealed. I suspected it at the time, but after two years with zero issues I'm convinced the number one issue with this pump is people misunderstanding and/or doing a poor job with the wiring. Take your time! Be absolutely sure every connection is rock solid, sealed with adhesive lined shrink tubing, and then use PVC pipe wrap tape to secure all your wiring to the bottom of your piping so they won't wiggle and risk coming loose. And use a check valve at the pump. I didn't because I couldn't get one in time and needed water, but you should.I tested mine every step of the way. First in a garbage can just overflowing the water on top of itself (with the wiring covered). Then with the piping attached, emptying back into the garbage can (I did this to clean out the pipe a bit too, but that was unique to my situation). Then again about 20 feet into water in the well. Then of course again at the bottom.I will 100% buy again. At this price I may just keep one on hand.

excellent flow rate. install per instructions and work with customer support if questions arise.
Installed july 2023. Added check valve to pump and drilled 1/8" bleed hole per directions. Installed down to 226 ft with torque arrestor on 1 1/4" line. Got 24 gallons per minute flow at well head. installed Barrett Pump Stop 1" Plastic Valve - 50# just before the check valve going into the pressure tank to control pump stopping too quickly. So far working great! I get all the water I need. My well produces prodigious amounts of water. I plan to tee off the tank line to feed irrigation on the land next spring.I'll check back in the future to add any comments on performance issues I encounter. 1/25/2025

Works great!
Used this to replace a dead red jacket 1.5hp pump for my irrigation system. Its about 4-6 inches longer, but seems to be a perfect match and drives my sprinkler heads the same as the old one. It came with wire crimps and submersible adhesive grade heat shrink tubing. I made the mistake of attaching my wires before putting them through my well casing in my pvc riser which sits on the bottom (doh!)... but, no worries, you can buy another well grade heat shrink tubing kit from Lowes. I like the tubing from Lowes a bit better as the tubing is Longer and looks more like the black tubing that was used to seal the old motor connection. That said, I'm sure the clear tubing they provide will work fine provided you follow instructions and make sure you take time with your heat gun and make sure you see the adhesive start to bleed out around both ends. So far, I'm very happy with this purchase! It came well protected during shipping and was easy to assemble. The hardest part is reattaching the metal intake screen once you connect the motor/impeller units (very tight, but have patience and you will get there!). The old red jacket pump lasted nearly 15 years-- would be cool if I get this kind of life out of this one, but time will tell right?

Pump is economical but some stuff looks cheap.
I like this pump. It's doing what it should be doing but there are THREE things I didn't like about it. FIRST: The top of the pump is really small. Usually these tops are a big chunk of steel but this pump has a small cap of metal. I can't say whether this will effect the operation at all and as I said it seems to be working right now. SECOND: I didn't like the 230V wires. They seemed small for supplying current to a 230V pump. The two lines that where the 230V power supply were adequate (maybe a little on the small side). I think they should have been bigger. The neutral line appeared to be really small. This line doesn't matter that much and isn't carrying lots of current so I can see why they left it small. THIRD: I didn't like the holes for the safety rope. I have a big safety rope and the holes were too small for me. I measured them to be slightly larger than 1/4". I would recommend that you buy some marine grade D-ring shackles with the purchase of this pump if you have a line that is over 1/4" thick. I used quick links but had to run all over my area to find a place that had them in stainless steel. Also the safety line holes were on a little wing that came out at the top of the pump. I'm worried that one of these could break especially if the pump is sitting in water for >10yrs. I used both of them. You can see my setup in the attached picture. Overall, the pump is doing what it should be doing which is why I gave it 4stars. I'm not dissatisfied. One note of caution on this though: Almost every part of this pump that I interfaced with appeared to be cheap, wires, cap, safety line holes... There is not much more that you touch when you are installing a well pump. If what I could see appeared to be this cheap I am worried that the rest of the pump is chincy as well. Just a note of caution.

I have bought 3 of these. 1 died after a week, 1 lasted 1.5 years and died and the 3rd i put in less than 2 weeks ago and it died already. Its residencial use for irragation so not uaed alot.these are junk. Its not easy to pull up a pump thats 120 feet below ground. Save yourself the aggrevation and buy a good pump.

I bought it to send it to Cuba since the water supply is not good over there. It works perfectly. My family is happy with the performance and quality of this pump.
