With each new device I buy the first thing I think about in the construction industry is what case am I going to buy to protect it. I must say that the OtterBox Commuter Series is my favorite! This case is perfect, not too big and still has more protection than I'll ever need. I really like the commuter series because the hard shell is on the outside compared to the defender which has the soft shell on the outside. The defender doesn't last as long in my opinion because the outer soft shell tends to stretch. I also don't like the defender screen protector that hovers over the phones screen. I usually just buy a wet application screen protector and change that out every year or so. The soft plastic flaps over the charging plug and the headphone jack is much approved with this version. Very easy to open and close without having to jam each side in like previous versions of the commuter. This case is a must buy for protecting our investments. Highly recommended.

Very happy with this. I got the Commuter series because the Defender would just make my Note 4 too bulky. I used this model for a BlackBerry Torch some years back and it did a fine job of protecting that phoneEasy to put on, feels well made to protect for daily use. If you tend to drop your phone a lot, get the Defender. The hard outer shell is strong but it lacks the slight rubber softness of the Defender, lacking that degree of shock absorption some people may need.He charging and headphone ports are covered. The covers can be opened, to charge especially. There is a bit of pressure the cover applies to the chaging cord, not happy with that. I place rhe cord between the cover and the USB plug to alleviate some of that.The rubber lip is alright, not as pronounced as the Defender series. It is also loose by he volume keys, no hard plastic on that section. Not sure why. It would make a difference.This doesn't feel as strong as the one I had for my BlackBerry Torch years ago.For what I need, this works. Not the best Otterbox product but a very good one. The back plastic is smooth and slightly slippery, again due to the lack of the hard but rubbery outer shell in the Defender series. The same thing that won't absorb shock as well will also make it more likely for your phone to slide off your lap.Keeping it, like I said it serves my needs.

I am a person who absolutely hates to have a case on my phone. I don't like the extra bulk when I'm holding it, and especially when I'm trying to pull it in and out of my pocket.That being said, I have also scratched up and broke the screen on every phone I have had; which is several because I hate using a case.Well when my wife got us new phones she insisted that I use a case, so I picked this one out, and I've now been using it for several months on my Samsung Note 4.This thing is tough, but it isn't bulky and awkward. I can't even tell you how many times my phone would have broke if I weren't using it.Installation was simple enough, and now my phone feels weird without it on.The one thing I would advise is to also order a tempered glass screen protector to use with it. The screen protector that comes with it is vinyl, and it is worth the extra $6.

This is case is almost everything I was looking for. Dropped the phone twice once on hard wood and another on asphalt. No damage. I did have to cut the flaps for the USB and the headphone jack off. My reason for getting the case was to take the plastic outer shell off when needed. This was frequently, as fastened a metal plate under it to the silicone part to use with a magnetic mount for my windshield. On the outer side of the plastic shell, I fastened a ThinOptics thin glass case for reader glasses. This way I never need my girlfriend to read the menu. When I drive have a terrific mount for using the GPS, when I get out of the car, I put the case on. This would also be great if I put a wireless charger in it instead of the magnetic mount plate. I had to cut the flaps off because they were drastically making it hard to remove the shell and put it back on easily. However I did not need them anyway. The only thing that would have been annoying is that the charger is also harder to plug in with the flap attached. Overall I am very satisfied with the case despite the added size and it is the only one so far (out of 5) that allows me to do what I want with it... (what you just read.) The price was awesome too.

The case was a perfect fit for my Note 4. Since having it on, I have already dropped my phone once. No cracked screen or damage to my phone. Its not too bulky so it fits off in my purse, but it does have a slightly raised frame around the front ( I believe it is to lessen impact when and if you do drop your phone). I don't have any problems getting to my phones power, volume or control buttons. The only small issue I have with the case is that the earphone jack cover does not sit 'flush' with the case, it sticks out just a little. Not such a deal breaker for me to decrease the number of stars. The charging port cover at the bottom works perfectly.

There's nothing better than an Otterbox for keeping your phablet safe. The case is sleek and the dual protection does an excellent job protecting your device from damage-as someone who regularly drops their phone I can tell you it works. My only issue is with the flap that covers the USB/charge port: it sticks out a bit after being opened a few times. Even this is not enough to make me reduce the five star rating that I give the Otterbox. I protected my old Galaxy S3 phone with an Otterbox and dropped it more times than I can recall. When I took it out of the Otterbox after three years it looked brand new.

I love having an otterbox. Especially since my hands haven't gotten used to the enormous size of the note 4 yet! Delivery was quick, and product was as described.+ came with an easy apply screen protector- the rubber flaps that protect the earphone jack and power supply aren't flush with the case. They stick out just a hare but, I think that makes it easier to open them.

If you're looking for a rugged, durable case to protect your Samsung Galaxy Note 4, this is the one.The case itself is comprised of a rubber inner layer and a tough plastic external shell. Also included is a clear screen protector to provide limited protection to the front of your device.The case has a lip around the edge of the device which offers protection to the front of your handset if you drop it face first.Having used it for a week now, my only complaints would be regarding the rubber port covers over the headset jack and the micro-USB port - after the first charge or first use of a wired headset, the ports will not sit flat again, instead sticking out from the edge of the casing which is a minor aesthetic annoyance but doesn't take away from the function of the case. Additionally, it feels as though the case doesn't leave quite enough room around the opening for the SPen as when you remove the pen it seems to grind along the edge of the case - again, very minor issue that doesn't impact the functionality of either device or the case.

The feel of the cover and the fit is really good.
