Q: Can anyone suggest a slightly thinner plastic washer? The 0.16" thickness has proved impossible to install (smittybilt xrc2). Need closer to 0.1"

No they do not have a locking mechanism. You could wire the pin to the shackle which would make them harder to steal, but no lock.

Q: Do you have to have a bumper to use these? I want to put them on the front of my Tacoma but I don’t have one of those big bumpers

Hi,there, How are you! Our standard product has an aperture of 0.95 inches on one side and a screw aperture of 0.78 inches on the other side, the diameter of the screw pin is 7/8 inches. These are standard size shackles, should fit just about everything. Just measure your mount hole... Needs to be just larger than the 7/8" screw pin. So It doesn't have to be mounted on a bumper.
