When we introduced the Thinkbaby over 8 years ago, 95% of the baby bottles on the market were made of polycarbonate, which contains BPA. Initially, we attempted to convince the major companies to move from polycarbonate, but after being unsuccessful, we launched Thinkbaby and Thinksport to address the concern of s leaching from consumer products. We started with the baby bottle because polycarbonate was ubiquitous across the industry. As little ones' systems are still in a state of development, they have very little defense against foreign s. While many companies have emerged to offer BPA-free baby bottles, many bottles not only still contain BPA despite saying BPA-free (see Canada study), but many companies have also landed on untested materials just because the material cls to be free of BPA. Thinkbaby utilizes the precautionary principle in the creation of all of our products. We don't jump to new materials without doing the requisite testing to ensure that we haven't landed on another BPA-like material. When we target a product segment that concerns us, we ask the question, "How can we make the product line safe, functional, and sustainable?" Thinkbaby and Thinksport's focus has led us to be the first company to span safe consumer products ranging from baby to adults. Free of Bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, nitrosamines, lead, PVC, PET, and biologically harmful s. No spill straw!! - features our cross-cut design. Extra soft, medical grade silicone straw provides easier transition from sippy cup to the next stage of feeding straw bottles. We have won multiple awards based on the ease of transition of our line. Perfect for 16 to 48 months. Comes with easy-to-close swivel top. This reduces the chance of spillage during travel and protects the straw from coming into contact with foreign substances. When washing the Thinkster in the dishwasher, we recommend using a detergent that is free of chlorine. Most of the natural detergents on the market, from Eco Lever to Seventh Generation, should be free of toxic s. If hand-washing, the American Pediatrics Association suggests using warm soapy water, but only if you live in an area with treated water systems. Before first use: We recommend sterilizing the Thinkster of Steel in boiling water for 2 to 5 minutes before first use. We do not recommend utilizing sterilizers, as we cannot guarantee that the ones on the market were made with safe materials. The Thinkster of Steel is NOT microwave safe. In fact, we strongly suggest that parents do away with the use of microwaves for all items and products destined for your little one. We highly recommend purchasing a box of Thinkster replacement straws at time of checkout. Silicone straws last between 2-3 months, depending on use. It is important to take feeding products away from little ones after they have finished eating, so that they are not confused with chew toys.
