Dragons and Firebirds
The continuation of the Last Dragon Chronicles.David, Lucy, Zanna and the dragons have disappeared after the destruction of dark fire. This book starts out on Co:pern:ica. David, a young boy dreams odd dreams and is sent to the Librarium. His mom Eliza and father Harlan are concerned for they fear he will be sent to the Dead Lands. David meets Rosa and Mr. Henry along with the firebirds.Everyone on Co:pern:ica uses their fain to construct what they need. And the Librarium is a special place full of books. Why it is, no one knows and no one has been beyond the 42nd floor. It's the firebirds that know the secret of the dragons. Many things happen in the story and the ending is very surprising and deals with a tapestry. But will the firebirds bring the dragons before Ix takes over and destroys the Is?I gave the book a four simply for the fact that with the change in characters was a bit confusing. I finally understood that Co:pern:ica was the land between Earth and where the Fain live (and probably where David, Lucy and Zanna went). Co:pern:ica is actually a parallel universe if you will, to that of Earth. This has been an interesting read and journey so far with the dragons. I can't wait to finish the last book and see what the dragons are going to do.

Wow!
In my opinion: leaps and bounds better than the last one! The story lines were easier to follow and the story itself was really exciting and engaging. There were fewer "important moments" that turned out no to be that important in the end after all and also fewer moments that kind of just passed by when you weren't really paying attention, but turned out to be crucial, if that makes any sense. That being said, I was not prepared for the beginning. I thought we would continue where the last book left off and see what happened next, but no! :O This story is told from a completely different, yet somewhat similar, point of view with a whole new set of characters. It spans over quite some time and ends where the last book ended. Or does it, considering "the thing" (don't want to spoil) is suspended in time? Some things are confusing, i.e. the issue with time, space and such, but I think it is really exciting how this story has spiralled out of my initial expectations!

blah blah blah..bad reviewers!!! giving one star because you dont know how to describe the book..or you cant understand David..my 4th grader gets this book!!! the great part about this book is that i can read it to my kids and it doesnt have parts i have to skim over because its to bloody or to much sex.. it doesnt have that. i like/enjoy it as much as them and its not boring! 4 stars because it can get slow at times..but there arent to many books that dont for atleast one chapter..i would give it 4.5 if you want the truth but it wont let me.

Update on former previous review - issue resolved !
Update on my previous review...The vendor responded quickly to my first review regarding my dissatisfaction with the transaction experience of this book via Amazon. The vendor offered to provide a full refund without having to return the item based on the circumstances. I appreciate this very much. It appears the vendor is more interested in customer satisfaction and for that, I give them a "two thumbs up" ! Thank youAs far as the actual product, my 9-year old son loves this series and was very happy with the book. The school also approved it for a book report project.

I haven't read it yet.....
Okay- only giving this 4 stars as I haven't read the book yet and have it wrapped under the Christmas tree as a present.... I have heard great things about these books and I am excited to share them with my son who I got it for... The book binding looks tight and the quality is good. I will review/rewrite the review after we read it. I am excited to read it and am glad it is a good quality paperback.... More later!

This is a great book. My 12 year old read it when he was 9, and couldn't put it down. I bought him the next one as soon as he was done to keep him reading. He read it with ease and said it was a really good story. I couldn't tell you what it was about cause he didn't go into details, just said he really like it and wanted the next one, right away.

Wonderful!
This book is a must for dragon lovers. All ofThe Last Dragon Chronicles are. The only thing I do not care for is that there is no list of the books in order anywhere in the book. I would like to continue reading the chronicles to find out what really happens ..

Great book
Whilst I was a bit daunted and unsure when I realised that this book is set in a completely different world to the previous books, with different(ish) characters, I soon got completely engrossed in it. I did miss the characters of the first books and was terribly anxious to know what was happening to them and disappointed not to be finding out right away, but the new world is so enjoyable that I was willing to forget about them for a bit. The world building is terrific, with fantastic description and I love the fire birds. The story is gripping and the suggestion of a link with the other world keeps you guessing and interested throughout. I'd definitely recommend it.

I love this series
I am pretty sure these books are meant foryoungsters but I am in my 60's and I have loved the series. Bought the first book for a Nephews birthday started reading it and had to go back and get another because I was enjoying it so much. Since then I have worked my way thorough the series and I have througly enjoyed all of them. Book one was quite tame and fluffy but since then the story has grown in depth and maturity so I am sure it will be enjoyed by all lovers of famtasy and in particular dragons

decent book
I have not read the whole book but I have about 40 pages left, the story is interesting and a good read, however the story is very different compared to the last 5 odd books which seems like the writer might be trying to make the series last a bit longer than it really should be as this book's setting, in my opinion, is not as good as the story in the last couple books and would probably be better of as an independent story, like the hobbit and the lord of the rings books. However the story is still good and worth picking up.

Good book
It was a really good book, some parts were surprising and others didn't really make any sense but it was amazing bedside them. Should read

Massive Fan
I am such a massive fan of this series! The first book is a little young, but the series really kicks off in the second book. The whole series is a fast paced adventure, full of twists and turns and Fire world doesn't disappoint. The story line is quite complex for younger readers (as was some of the Harry Potter books another big favourite of mine) but 10 - 12year olds should manage ok. I would recommend this to anyone who likes fast paced adventure a really great read for young and old alike plus it has dragons! what more do i need to say!
