Good Quality Construction.
I purchased this specific waterer, because I owned one years ago.. After ordering, I saw the feedback about leaks.. :( I removed it from the box, and the first thing I noticed was build quality seems good. It took a little time to get it, so when it arrived, I couldn’t wait to get it hooked up. Initially, I attached the hose to the bowl, and screwed it onto the faucet, with no teflon tape, and it leaks a little. I pulled it back apart, placed about 6 layers of teflon tape on to both ends of the hose, and re-connected it.. I dumped it out a few times and let it refill without issue. About 2 hours later, I checked on it, and there was a wet spot, about the size of a quarter. The tiny leak is from the white plastic fitting, and the bowl itself. I tightened the nut on the outside ever so slightly, and it hasn’t leaked a drop in 3 days now.Overall, I very pleased with the Little Giant Pet Waterer. The bowl holds a decent amount of water, so it stays cool. ( I’m sure in direct sunlight, it wouldn’t)Update: 8/29/22 - after nearly a year, the waterer has started to leak at the white teflon fitting. Dis-assembled, and re-teflon taped it a couple times, and it won’t stop. It seems to me, and I’m no expert, but the threads are too smooth, a bit rounded off, or possibly the wrong size. Additionally, I have to keep adjusting the float because it’s always overfilling. Again, to me, it seems the teflon float assy is not strong enough to completely close the valve..Rich…

Company unwilling to support their product
I have had this product for less than two months. It was easy to assemble and worked fine for about four weeks then I went outside and found that the short hose had come out of the plastic adapter that goes into the pan. I reconnected the hose and made sure I tightened it securely. When I turned the water back on the hose came loose again. This happened several times. When I contacted the company and asked for a replacement part (the plastic adapter), the response was, your item is outside their replacement time frame. In other words they do not stand behind their product.

Cheap hose connection breaks, bowl Rusts easily after about 6 months not worth money
Bought this bowl, hooked it up, it was easy set up no problems, noticed after a week it was overflowing, fixed the float. After 2 weeks the hose connection started leaking, so I replaced that too. Otherwise it was a good bowl.Less than 5 months later the bowl is rusty, and I will not let my animals drink from it. Waste of time and money for what I thought, based on other reviews I had read, was a quality bowl. Hoping my review can steer potential buyers in the correct direction of a quality bowl. I reached out to the sellers and they said "oh well, it's outside our 30 day return policy buy another one" .... I'm not buying a new $40+ water bowl every few months.

Great for about a year....
They seem to last well over a years, and if lucky longer, but the PLASTIC Hose CONNECTION is lame,it eventually leaks and will fail if left on full, so you should either pressure reduce the flow or half cock its input. The rusting (in North Texas) seems to start within a year. Discoloration occurs pretty quickly, but I normally scrub them every few weeks. Overall a Great product for my Chickens, but the Plastic back end leaking has been on all 5 I have purchased, but there are not many options. The float system works well, even if it were to leak a bit, not an issue, even the back leak does not bother me much, until it starts to wet the yard to much and if you mess with it, it always pops through the screw rings, so that would be better with harder or different plastic or maybe some kind of aluminum fitting instead of plastic.

Works Great
Holds a small amount of water so that it is cycled through more often and stays cleaner. This is serving 2 medium to large breed dogs.

It works, but doesn't last. .. RUST!
So purchased this in JUL 2019 and it worked as intended. No problem keeping up with 3 dogs in the back yard. There was the occasional leak at the connection point, but I never used Teflon Tape so that is on me. After about 6 months I started to notice some rust spots in the bottom, but nothing serious. At the 1 year mark (probably at the 11 month), I am now noticing a constant leak. I thought it was the hose connection because I didn't use tape. Turns out that there are numerous small pin holes in the bottom of the pan due to rust. So 1 year and it' done. No issues with the float, worked well except for the rust. If using this for the occasional extended weekend this should last years if maintained. If using this daily, I would plan on replacing this item every 9-12 months.

Easy to install
It's easy to install, just the right size and I love that it's stainless steel and won't rust. It provides my dog with fresh cold water constantly so I don't have to worry about her when I have to leave her in the backyard. Price is reasonable and I highly recommend it. We've always used one of these for our dogs for years.

We have 2 fenced in acres so they are pretty spoiled in having the of the place
We have a cold weather dog, in the Summer she'll spend all day inside in the AC, in the Winter she would stay outside all the time if given the choice, add to that an inside/outside cat, and one more cat who only comes in very occasionally (on his terms) and for very short amounts of time (5 minutes is about his limit. We have 2 fenced in acres so they are pretty spoiled in having the of the place. The problem was, living in South Texas you really do not want to even risk the possibility of your pets running out of water during the day. We did the really big plastic bowl thing for a while but the would get knocked over and stagnate. We've had this for about 2 years and it has been great. We keep it on a covered patio out of direct sunlight. Dump it out once a day to get the accumulated dirt, bugs, and leaves out and freshen it. Keep the faucet turned ever so slightly on - that's it. Every once in a while, wipe any algae out.The only complaint is the same many have echoed here - the plastic hose coupler is soft and prone to leaking, plus not very handy when it comes to connecting/disconnecting the hose. Easily solved with a quick-disconnect and some plumber's tape to tighten up the threads. I haven't had a leak since. Should this be included? Maybe, but it would just increase the price and now the disconnect on this matches the rest of my hoses.
