Comfortable and Fits Perfectly!
Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with De Quervain's tenosynovitis and significant arthritis at the base of my thumb. My orthopedic hand doctor sold me a ProCare Quick-Fit Wrist/Thumb Support Splint, and after wearing it for a day and a half, I could no longer tolerate it because it was causing me extreme pain on the opposite side of my wrist and forearm (the little finger side), it was too heavy for my small-boned arm, and it was putting too much pressure on the wedge between my thumb and forefinger. Then I bought a Braceability brace, but it didn't conform to the palm of my hand. Then I bought a Maxar brace, but it put too much pressure on the wedge. And then I bought this Sammons Preston brace and it fits perfectly and is SO COMFORTABLE compared to the other braces! Thank you, Sammons Preston (and Amazon)!

Close to perfect, but catches everything
I had to remove the thumb stay in order to make this comfortable. It was making my tendonitis hurt even more before I did that but once I removed it so great brace the only thing that I have to take two full stars off for is the velcro. The velcro was just so badly designed. They put the scratchy catchy part of the velcro and a long line along the length of the brace. So you adjust the rest tightness by pulling the other straps perpendicular across that. Because the velcro doesn't totally overlap there are gaps in these gaps of the catchy stiff part of the velcro catch on everything. I can't do laundry or get dressed if I am wearing something delicate because I will ruin clothes. If they just change this one thing I could give it 5 stars. I'm still wearing it because it is offering the best support what I have found so far but it is really annoying to have to be so careful.

Thumb strap didn't last
The brace itself is fine, definitely helps ease the pain in my thumb and wrist from de quervain's tenosynovitis. Unfortunately the strap around the thumb began to unravel within a week. I cut the strap because the long stringy strands were getting tangled in the velcro. It has turned into an unusable mess. Thankfully, Amazon issued a refund immediately.

The First Rule Of Any Joint Injury -- STABILIZE IT!
Yeah I'm kind of old. I will be forced to take Social Security next year. But that hasn't kept me from working in the yard 4-6 hours each day in Southwest Florida's summer heat and humidity. Most of my joints have been repaired or tuned up (athletic injuries) and periodically I get up in the morning with pain in one (or more) of those joints.Last week I woke up with severe left thumb pain combined with soreness of the wrist. I had dislocated that thumb playing basketball in graduate school 45 years ago. Ignoring that prior injury I thought that maybe my diet had given me another episode of gout, something that usually occurs in that thumb. However the steps that I take to treat gout didn't work this time.So I ordered and began wearing this SammonsPreston Thumb Spica Wrist Brace. Stabilizing both my left thumb and wrist was both easy and comfortable, immediately taking out the random motions that were causing me pain. After a week of wearing the brace my symptoms disappeared and I was able to continue my daily activities --although very carefully.Since my wife has been fighting tendonitis in her right wrist, I also ordered her this same brace in her correct size. She can't seem to thank me enough for helping moderate her pain. Now if I could only get her to wear it while at work she would find herself recovering much faster. This is a great product offered at a reasonable price -- especially when you consider that it only cost you around $30.00 to avoid a trip to the doctor and the expense of any follow-up diagnosis and treatment. Obviously this won't solve all thumb and wrist problems, but if you want to give the affected area some stabilization and rest, this will do it for you.

Very pleased
I waffled on what size to buy. I was right at the edge of the measurements. I wear a size 8 ring and have old worker hands which always chagrined my mother. She wanted a petite daughter... The military had given me this exact same brace but it was always a bit big and no size marking. So I got an XS. Perfect. The metal parts are curved just right and it's very comfortable. I can sleep in it! I've had the military one 6 years and it's still just fine but when I saw I could get it in a size smaller I sprung for it and am very glad I did. I expect this XS to perform just as well. 4 stars instead of 5 because the sewing is off just a bit on one of the straps. Not fixable and not worth the trouble to send it back.

Excellent brace. Well made, light weight, fully adjustable.
I bought this after an unfortunate wrist fracture. It's the 2nd brace I've tried and I'm glad I decided to spend the money for a semi customized brace. It's padded and soft enough to not irritate my sensitive post cast skin as well as sturdy enough to completely immobilized my wrist and thumb. It being winter I can't speak about summer weather but it's not hot to wear, doesn't cause sweating. There Are three Velcro stabilizing straps on the arm as well as one for the thumb. There's a molded steel metal splint that's completely removable if desired. It's well made but light weight. If I can be happy about wearing a brace I certainly am with this one. Very glad I splurged on it and would recommend for light to heavy use.

Does the Job, But Sticks to Everything!
Overall, I really like this brace. I had a softer brace previously to try to treat a grade 2 sprain, but it wasn't sturdy enough to keep me from accidentally moving my wrist. This brace has much more support. I like the 3 adjustable straps (don't forget to trim the excess or the loose flaps will bug you!) and the thumb strap has actually been more help than I feared. It is hard to sleep in. The inside material is comfortable and does not irritate my skin, but the outside of the brace is mostly the straps and velcro strips, which also stick to everything! I am always getting stuck to towels, blankets, and pieces of clothing. Even my couch at one point... I might make a quick sleeve to go over the top of it in order to keep it from catching on everything, but I feel like I shouldn't *have* to.Like I said, this is a good quality product and well made. I can definitely tell a difference in my recovery after using it for about a week!
